Quote from BK in BGI article:

“We really like Daniels coming along and developing … and we’re going to be recruiting [receivers],” Kelly said. “You’ll see some young guys on the field next year.”

Our next Michael Floyd? I think so, this kid is special. And has that swaggar!

I know this quote is from awhile ago but just wanted to say that Daniels has a long road to becoming the next Floyd. Not saying he can't be an excellent wideout but Floyd is listed at 225 some places and I think that might be an underestimate. Daniels does have a big frame I saw him once in street clothes and was surprised how big he is but he'll need a couple years at the training table to put on Floyd's size. I think Daniels will be speedster and with his height still be a solid possession receiver but as of right now I can't see him catching short passes and bulldozing guys for first downs the way Floyd does. But I guess you never know since the kid's Dad is an NFL defensive lineman, he might stack on muscle.

we can only hope to see another michael floyd in our lifetime...dude's like that don't fall off of trees and are usually few and far between. i just hope he's productive for us next year.

it's a shame too that he doesn't get the love like JB and RB....he is in a league of his own..those guys can't do all the things that he can, he can stretch the field and he is a great blocker..he will never be appreciated as he should be...complete stud

Oklahoma State had Dez Bryant and then Blackmon, why can't we hope for the same?

To add to that Miami had Reggie Wayne, Santana Moss then came Andre Johnson.

That was sort of my point in posting. Floyd basically walked on campus and was one of the best WR in the country. Daniels has the potential to be a great WR but he is more of a project in my opinion. And adding size will be crucial to him being anywhere near like Floyd is as a Senior.

This is Notre Dame they only get big time players once a decade. I thought you knew that.

I know you guys are all hard up for the next Floyd in this O, but Floyd hasnt even been Floyd for 2 years. He had very few deep ball ops with BK and Rees at helm, any of these guys can get the 10 yards on the screens Floyd lived off of this year. Its not like Floyd was boxing out DBs with his size all season for 40-50 yard bombs, like with Wies.
I fully expect Floyd to showcase much better in the NFL then he has the last 2 years.

So while replacing what Floyd is as a specimen is not really possible, replacing what he has done for BK O isnt really a big task in my opionin. Now if Rees wasnt the QB for last year and half my story would prob be different.

recently that seems to be the case.

like it was said above floyd dominated the day he got to campus...if not for injuries the first two years...the records he has broken would have totally been obliterated. going to be hard to lure someone with that talent back to campus.

Exactly. I like the potential.

What games have you been watching? His blocking alone is some of the best I've ever seen out of a college WR and opened huge plays for our RBs.

I don't see why Davaris and Deontay can't play at the same time next year

People keep saying how we need another receiver; I say we're loaded. Jones, Toma, Daniels, Greenberry, Brown, Ferguson for six, and Smith, Farley allegedly with potential, and Riddick, GAIII, McDaniel, Russell, and Carlisle not obviously out as to utilization as WR/Slots and someone or two in that category surely to move there. 13 possibilities: how many does any team need???

The answer in vogue is one more.

I think it has more to do with the allure of getting a shinny 4/5:s: receiver with one of this year's last slots.

OMM, I think the percepton is there because, outside of Floyd and Eifert, our WR corps didn't show up. Honestly, I don't know if its all their fault, I remember watching at times when Rees missed wide open WR's, while focusing on Floyd and/or Eifert. After the big two, I don't think the production was there for people to think, "this guys gonna be huge next year". More questions than answers right now.

Remember the FSU throw into double coverage to Goodman? Isn't it in the works to get Goody a fifth year?

I think if you get a QB who is willing to spread the ball around, we will see more guys contribute and get into the flow of the game. I think Davaris will have a solid year this season.

Or moved to slot. I really, really think you're going to see him be the starter there.

I would have a hard time seeing Toma benched for Jones. Toma's been very productive for us every time he's seen the field. TJ hasn't.
