I don't expect a blowout. A 10 point victory would be very satisfying. Predicting blowouts against option teams is dangerous.

Just read about EJ. Hope whoever is taking his place is ready. I wouldnt think we would do this but I hope we come out ready to play, as i stated in the purdue thread I would hate a service academy to kill our momentum like last year with Navy.

Hybrid triple option.

They will run or pass depending on the defensive alignment. If the D loads the box they will fake dive to the FB then bounce outside for a QB keep or pitch depending on the read from the DE. Or they will fake the hand off to the FB bounce to the outside and the QB will either pitch or pass depending on if the CB bites on the play fake.

Tuitt should be important in this game. A big defensive end is great against the option. Just make sure he sets two alarms this time!

Run the football, stop the run. I won't worry about who is playing QB if we can get 250 rushing yards.

Tennessee State - 394 yards (206 pass, 188 rush)
Navy - 466 yards (132 pass, 334 rush)

Their biggest DL weighs 260 pounds. Their CBs are 5'10" and 6'0".

Their run defense looks soft and I expect Wood and Gray to run wild.

How in the world to you give up 394 yards to Tennessee State? If we dont have more than 500 yards of offense then something is wrong. Floyd should have another big game and so should Wood Gray. I guess if we stop their offense and dont turn the ball over, we should win this game by 2 scores

As long as the defense knows how to stop the option it should be a W. No stupid turnovers like 2 years ago against Navy. Louis Nix could feast on Saturday.

Not really. It goes along the same premise as West Virginia putting up crazy numbers against LSU late in the game, or the fact that Purdue put together a 95 yard drive in the fourth quarter last night against....... our second string defense.

I thought at the beginning of the season Notre Dame would be 4-1 going to this game and losing to Air Force. Now after my genius picks of Va Tech beating Clemson and Minn beating Mich I question my picks-sooooo I'd love to be wrong again. Go Get Air Force. Still like them 9-3 at the end but this now is a game they have to pick up to get to 9-3.

We should beat air force by a fairly large margin but we have to keep penalties at a minimum, and keep the turnovers under 2. ND will move the ball, but if we shoot ourselves in the foot by not executing, then we could let AF hang around, and that would play right into their hands since they eat the clock.

Our defense is going to be beaten up and tired as the game wears them down, it's crucial to take advantage of points in the red zone, and sustain long drives to rest our defense.

Ideally, ND jumps out to a quick 17-0, and let's airforce's game plan work against them. ND's defensive line is too much for AF to handle.

ND wins 33-13.

CW/JG both have huge games.

MF is wayyyyyyy to much for AF to handle.

I'm thinking a 10 point Irish win. Ruffer hasn't been so automatic this year and we still struggle inside the 20.
I'd like to see the TO differential swing a little bit more our way.

Predictor takes Margin of Victory, MOV, into account while his Elo Chess model, used by the BCS doesn't. It only considers Ws and Ls. His Rating model is a blend of Predictor and Elo Chess and makes ND a 13.5 favorite over AF.

Despite ND's two losses, they do well in his Predictor because the Losses were both close to formidable opponents.

I get that Navy has been a thorn in our side because of their option attack, but our rush defense is the best it's been in maybe ten years. I don't think it will be anything like Navy has been in the last 3 years.

Really hope EJ is healthy for this game. DEs play a huge role going against option attacks

There are few things we need to do in this game. 1. don't turn over the ball. they like to eat alot of time off the clock. the longer we hold the ball the better off we are. 2. Our special teams needs to improve alot. 3. i trust coach D but until we win against the option offense i not not predicting anything.
