3-4 scholarships left..unless..
I keep a record of the players on scholarship and how many years of elligability they have. Here is what I have.
With the recruits that have already verballed and all fifth years returning next year, there would be 82 players on scholarship.
I believe their will be at least a combination of two spots open up from the following:
1. Players that have a fifth year of elligability but do not play the fifth year for what ever reason.
2. Transfers
3. Players turning pro early (For the record, I am in the minority and will be very surpised if Floyd or Rudolph turn pro early.)
So, we have three spots left, and probably two more will open up as I have explained. That gives ND a total of five scholarships to use.
The needs are a WR, a DB, and either an offensive or defensive lineman. The extra two positions will go to the best players that want to come of guys like Huggins, Williams, Tuitt, Daniels, Schuller and so forth, if in fact those spots do open up.
If in fact five more players come, I would like to see
2 WR
1 OL/DE (If DE then Corrico or Springmann play offensive tackle. I think both could be very successful as OTs.)
1 DB (Prefering a fast, hard hitting safety)
1 either RB if Huggins wants to come or another DE.
