Did he really not play Sat night? It seems as if someone made a comment to that effect in the game thread and I was damn sure looking for him to blow something (or someone) up in the game, but never saw him (or Tuitt for that matter). Did I miss it? If indeed they didn't play, was there info about why they didn't? Appreciate any insight. Gotta get this guy into the Sparty backfield on Sat and wreak some havoc.

Just my speculation, but I think a healthy respect for Denard's scramble kept the DL frosh on the sideline. The coaching staff played only those who they completely trusted not to release Shoelace for a huge gain.

I expect we'll see more of Tuitt and Lynch than we did against both USF and UM. MSU has a rebuilt OL (lost 3 starters) and an immobile QB (compared to Daniels and Robinson). This is a put-up or shut-up game for our allegedly improved pass rush; we'll probably need it to pull out a win.

Also keep in mind, as Brent Mustberger pointed out multiple times, for the better part of 3 quarters, UM didnt have a drive over 4 or 5 plays. No need to sub in D Lineman if that is the case.

Which makes it more and more ridiculous that they won.

That game was certainly the most absurd I've ever seen. And that's saying something considering what we all watched the week before.

You don't think he's trying to fire up the team?

Why would he want to go back to FSU with those dbags harassing him?

He and Tuitt both came back here even after our own dbags harassed them.

TBH, I think its probably motivational retweeting at its finest.

WRT Saturday, I also didn't notice Tuitt or Lynch. My guess is, as stated, they didn't want to take chances with Denard. I'd expect the same against AF/Navy and any other mobile QBs we have this year. I think it's been stated a few times the biggest thing the Freshman DEs are working on is discipline with regard to assignments.

Agree , I would expect to see Lynch and Tuitt all day long against Michigan state since they run a more traditional offense with cousins more of a pocket passer.

I anticipate with a less mobile QB we will see alot of BEAST this weekend, and a dominating break out performance.

It's incredible how disrespectful some people are to a 18-19 year old kid. If Aaron was standing in front of them I garauntee they wouldn't say s***.

This is true, underthrown jump ball big plays is what did ND in. I think and hope all week in practice Gray, Smith & Motta are going against Floyd in jump ball situations/fades/underthrown balls.

i hope you didn't just jinx blanton, theres been other things he's done in the past that have hurt him, but he is the only DB we have right now that goes after the ball in the air.
Damn you are right...I resend my comment in that post.

Man, that play was exactly what I envisioned the entire time we were recruiting Aaron. Awesome. These young kids in the front 7 are going to be (and already are becoming) nasty.

RAW emotion and energy...our Defense plays with more emotion when he is in there... seeing Blanton and Slaughter getting hyped after the fumble was great to see.

I know this has been discussed at length on this board on several occassions so several different reasons, and I am not trying to stir the pot, but check out this tweet from Aaron earlier this week. I know somebody had mentioned a while back that Aaron took offense to this word, which is one of the reasons aside from the historical significance, that it would never be used....but anyhow..

IIRC, no one actually brought this up with Aaron himself. Alice was offended by it, and she thought that Aaron would be as well. Looks like Momma Lynch overestimated the cultural sensitivity of an 18-year-old kid.

Whiskey,

I think you may be correct on that actually. Momma Lynch thought Aaron would take offense. Either way Aaron is a complete bad*ss. Love watching that kid play, and I noticed during the game on Saturday that Tuitt displayed some of the same emotion and intensity on the field. Now if only we can get Ishaq to break out of his shell and let loose. This freshman class is talented and confident, its awesome!

I think Ishaq was jumping around in the locker room with everyone in the latest ICON video. Maybe he is starting to open up a little bit. Some guys have to feel completely comfortable before their true personality comes out.

Yeah I noticed that too. So far, I've felt that Ishaq has been uncomfortable and kind of homesick. It was good to see him opening up like that in the Icon video.
