IMO from what I have seen on tape, this kid is head and shoulders above everybody else the best athlete in this class, and maybe anybody from last year's crop as well. I am not quite sure why he isn't the #1 ranked guy overall in this class. He is a Percy Harvin type difference maker. I know he has been targeted as a WR prospect, but in our spread I honestly would love to have him come in and be our stud RB recruit for this year. I like his film with the ball in his hands even significantly more than Keith Marshall's, and think he could be dynamic taking read options and catching passes out of the backfield.

I think ultimately if he did commit, his position would be largely dictated by where our greatest need is come next year. If Greenberry comes in ready to play, and Daniels, Riddick, and TJ take big steps forward we might able to move GAIII back outside where his length and athleticism would be a better fit, and keep Agholor in the backfield. Kid needs to touch the rock more than 5-7 times a game which is about all he would see as a WR.

I just watched his tape for the first time. WOW this kid is special. What a gifted athlete. His vision is tremendous, his speed and athleticism are off the charts. He will immediately make the team he joins better. Dare I say he is Lynch-esque just in a different mold? Would love for him to see the Irish as the best place to go for football and life.

There is no debate that we need more play makers on offense, especially with Floyd leaving this year. Hopefully he sees that and will realize that he will more then likely play right away here in South Bend.

His RB film is very good. He shows a quick burst through the hole and he cuts on a dime, IMO. What I don't see is if he can take a tackle and get extra yards. I'm not looking for him to be Robert Hughes, but once he takes the initial hit is he going to go down or pick up the extra 2 yards?
He may very well be able to shed tacklers, but his tape just doesn't show it. Just something I would like to see on his film before I say he's a better RB prospect than WR.

At the same time, Cierre couldn't do those things last year, let alone his Junior and Senior seasons in high school, but he is certainly blossoming into something special this year. No reason this kid couldnt come in and play at 205 lbs and be plenty strong enough given that his strengths are always going to be blazing speed, agility and acceleration.

Agree here too. He would be one of those players where the coaches do everything to put the ball in his hands. He's a straight playmaker.

I don't get the draw of USC this year. They seem to be imploding. That doesn't mean these recruits have to come to ND, but I'd think they would be interested in other schools more than USC.

Fwiw, from reports months ago he was a USC lean before he even got an offer and was super excited when he did. He also follows 0 ND players but a number of UF and USC guys. Very long shot, but anything is possible. I'm personally hoping Charlie can keep him in Florida.

So doesn't that make your point about hot chicks and warm weather pointless when you admit that several schools fall into that category? You made it sound as if USC is unique because of those reasons, when they are clearly not.

...or go to a school where there are multiple types of weather throughout the year....like ND where....it will prep you for the NFL atmosphere of playing in Miami vs. Lambeau Field

look at the Sun Bowl last year.....ND was just another game weather climate while Miami was wearing all kinds of getup to stay warm.....it obviously makes a difference in you physically and mentally

UF seems to be his #2 school, and most of the others are guys he befriended on the 7-on-7 circuit, no?

You're spending 3-5 years there...why not go to a place that is warm??? Just because you might have to get used to it in the NFL doesn't mean you have to deal with it in college as well. I'll never fault a kid for wanting to be at a place with a warmer climate (assuming that's not the overriding factor). I'll never forget walking on to USC's campus one year on a 90 degree with my students, and seeing girls laying out in their bikinis everywhere. And not ugly girls either.

Face it, some people just don't like the cold, and some people just don't love going to class. ND has had to deal with that for seemingly forever. No big deal. We know what ND offers...some kids get it, some don't. USC offers a lot as well (even though we can see through their bs). Hopefully Agholar chooses ND, but I've said many pages ago and many months ago that I thought he'd end up at USC, and I still do (unless they continue to implode)...

With Captain Kiffyface behind the wheel, my money's on continued implosion.

USC definitely offers an attractive product, but if you're a top WR or RB, why would you ever choose to go there right now?

• Kiffycakes is struggling. The prospect of a coaching change looms on the horizon.
• The NCAA is still sniffing around Kiffin and his history at Tennessee; further instability.
• USC has more 4 and 5 skill athletes on the roster than just about any other program, so any promise of early PT is just blowing smoke.
• USC's sanctions are going to really start biting in the next few years. Any recruit committing now is going to suffer through the painful rebuilding process.

Yeah... this was the initial read from just about everyone close to the situation. If USC goes on to get spanked by ND, Stanford and Oregon... as well as drop another game somewhere in there to a crappy opponent to finish 7-5... with no bowl game and the sanctions just really starting... well then who knows. He might open up to ND or Florida or some other schools. I feel like two 5 loss years back to back is going to make a fair number of kids shaky on USC.

On the flip side, they could totally finish with only 2 or 3 losses if their lines solidify. The saddest part in all of this? UCLA still has a joke of a coach. If they had a competent head coach that could win football games USC would already be 6 feet under.

I am not so sure of that. Most kids consider USC their dream school because they idolized them growing up when they were dominating. They will continue to recruit well for the next 5 years or so. Whenever I hear interviews they always bring up how much they idolized players like Bush and Leinart. UCLA being ****** really only helps USC dominate Socal recruiting and helps schools like Cal, Oregon, Stanford and Washington.

Yes. That was an initial attempt at damage control, but the NCAA is still investigating. If they can tie Kiffin to any of it, he may get hit with a Show Cause.

Which would give Haden an excellent reason to fire Kiffin and look for a new coach. I like seeing USC getting hit, but I also don't want Kiffin to leave.
