Great story there Mike
However if Kelly doesnt start putting in 1 of the dual threat guys, whats he gonna say to himself at start of next season? Itd be a diff story at 4-0, but Kellys main goal for the season is gone already. Still plenty of games left but i see no reason at all why Hendrix hasnt been in for a couple plays just to run an option.
Does it not seem like the o is running same play over and over? 3 wr 1 side and a te on other feels like for 80% of the plays.

THISI see freshman starting and being given a chance all over. The FSU QB looked good (170 lbs), the OSU QB got a chance, Even Pitt put their pint sized QB in for one series for a change of pace. Why can't we put Hendrix in there for one series for achange of pace and force our opponents D to adjust to us? HE can run and strect the D.
I can almost guarantee all of you that Rees wont be the starter next year. It has to be Golson. If Rees continues to do what he is doing then Golson should start the second half on Saturday. We all saw what happened when Clausen started his 3 years of college. He had an incredible junior year and he probably would've done better his senior year. I go with Golson if Rees continues to turn it over
So by "stumble" you mean lead our offense to a game winning drive....
....right?

Golston won't see the field this year.
"The last 10 or 15 plays were some of our base plays," Kelly said. "Early on, some of the looks for Tommy were first-time looks for him. He's a young quarterback. It takes him a little while to process a new look. We'll do a better job during week giving him loks he may see. Part of that is coaching. Just sometimes you have to go back to your basics and that's what we did."
Another area to improve will be adjusting when teams overload coverage to siphon off Michael Floyd, as Pittsburgh did Saturday. Kelly said it was nothing the Irish hadn't seen before, but he also said the offense didn't exploit the matchups offered by that overload.
"The only difference really would be for us in terms of how to get the ball to the players that are 1 on 1," Kelly said. "We had a number of 1 on 1 situatons that we didn't take advantage of. That's what we'll make certain we'll coach Tommy up on."
I heard from a friend who talked to Hendrix after the game (good friend with Hendrix as well) that Rees was one bad drive away from being pulled for him.
If true, this in and of itself might be enough to keep Hendrix off the field. You just don't talk about this kind of thing, again if true.
True.
Golson might though![]()
Clearly, if Kelly doesnt want Christ, let Golson take over and use the running QB otherwise we are wasting time.
I see what you did there. You made a joke about my typo. Clever. I'll bet this catches on on the internet.
Golston won't see the field this year.
I don't care who plays quarterback, just want someone to play it!
Crist- accuracy is an issue and if you can get his head, he's done.
Rees- turnover machine, doesn't make his progression reads very well.
Unless Hendrix and Golson both have absolutely no grasp of the offense, I don't know what we lose playing them.
More turnovers? Missed receivers? Missed unseen open receivers?
Aren't we getting that already?
Golston plays defensive end for Michigan State. just kidding shamrock and i agree with you.
Rees- turnover machine, doesn't make his progression reads very well.
Turnovers, yes. But, IMO, he goes through progressions way more effectively than Dayne. Yesterday Tommy was rattled. But, it was the first time that I didn't think he was delivering the ball on time and generally to the right guy.
