Sucks for Tee. I'm confused how this wasn't known when he decided to transfer. I guess this could slow his development, but selfishly at least it probably reduces the likelihood that other schools will go hard after him.

He should still be able to practice with the team during the week but just can't play in the games. So he will still get his reps. This is my understanding...correct if I'm wrong.

why the world didn't anyone do there due diligence before the transfer?

at least in PA where i live and this just happened at one of our powerhouse schools....a kid transfered from Bloom HS because the guy he is sitting behind at QB is verballed to Rutgers so he wanted more playing time and is a hell of a player himself...so he transfered to a neighboring HS but the HS he was leaving wouldn't sign off because of the rivalry between the 2 teams...so this immediately goes to a decision by the PIAA to decide the fate....lucky for the kid they were some how able to prove that it wasn't done for "athletics" so he is allowed....when it is done because of moving due to a parent's job etc it isn't a big of a deal but when you are a stud player and believed to be "recruiting" it is a no go...this was done prior to the school year and JUST got approved...which is 3 days before the 1st game

from another website called CVHSPREPS.COM ---i guess according to Tee's f/b they were bashing him on there...way too many pages to read through but i did find this

"Just talked to T. Shep man if you could hear the hurt in his voice. He says not to worry he's just gonna stay focus on the task at hand. Really great kid thats gonna miss his sr yr.

He's an EE, and this is bullshit. It's just a school feeling butt hurt that he left them (and will now beat them) and putting political pressure on to not let him play. No one cares about the kid involved.

Jason Sapp writes:

Received confirmation from Notre Dame cornerback commit Tee Shepard that he's ineligible this season after telling me about his transfer from Central East to Washington Union shortly after his return from "The Opening" in Oregon.

"I can't play," Shepard simply responded via text.

In his initial report to BlueandGold.com this summer, the reason for his transfer was to graduate early and enroll early at Notre Dame.

That's total bullsh*t then. Transfers are only supposed to result in ineligibility if they're primarily made for athletics.

This makes me so angry. It is high school for goodness sake. He switched schools so he could enroll early and so he could play with his cousin (which is probably what caused the ineligibility call). There should be nothing wrong with those reasons.

Latest from Sapp:

UPDATE at 3:00 p.m.:

Just caught up with Central East assistant coach and DB specialist Tony Perry to discuss Shepard's situation more in depth.

He said that Tee currently can't play at Washington Union, but they might be able to take him back at Central East so he can play this season.

Perry is expecting to have an answer on that at some point today and says he'll keep us informed on Shepard's status.

More to come shortly in a front-page story.

I hope that won't prevent him from enrolling early. We'll really need him in 2012.

This thing sure stinks. Here is a kid that transferred so he could EE. I hope he appeals and gets to play this season.

Exactly... if it's for pure academic reasons (which graduating early to enroll in college is) OR his residence moved this is 100% BS.

We really want Tee as an EE heading into '12 when he will likely have to play as a true frosh.

We have Lo, Jackson, Atkinson, Brown, and technically Hardy all ahead of him at this point.

Look at how many of our 4-5:s: freshman are already on the two deep. Shepard will be no different if he EEs.

You always play at least 3 CBs over the course of a year and right now we only have 4 CBs total on the roster heading into '12. Darby and Tee being in as EEs for spring ball will be really big for us if they are called on for action as true freshman. And there is a very strong chance, through either injury or their own talents/work to make the 2 deep, that they will at some point.

Right now, we have 2 totally unproven guys, a safety who is out for the year with injury, a converted WR in his first year at CB and Lo Wood. When Lo Wood, a guy who hasn't played very much, is your "sure thing" of the group I really think you need your 5:s: CBs in and at least competing for time right away.

A good example would be TJ Jones. He showed up as an EE, got his work in, and beat out Kamara, Shaq, etc. for an outside WR spot as a true frosh. If TJ could do that, I think there is a strong possibility our incoming top 5 CBs could also break into the lineup... but it's going to be much harder without the experience of Spring Ball.

Different transfer rules for different states.
I know that MA rule is if you played varsity level then you have to sit a year having gone through it myself.

i'm sure this has been said already, but it's too bad this took long enough for him to not enroll this summer at ND and redshirt and really be ready to go by next year. there was no way for him to envision this, though, his ratings will unfairly go down just by not being able to play...i wonder if the army game is still going to allow him to participate??

you don't understand what i mean, my bad, i mean, it is too bad he didn't get his diploma even earlier (like this summer) and he could have enrolled...some recent basketball commit from UConn is doing something similar, but his scholarship won't be active til 2012...sorry about the mix up does this make a lil more sense? i know it is highly unlikely/unpredictable.

Hopefully they allow him back to his old school, if he wants to play bad enough. If not, then at least he can EE for us.

some states, idk what cali's rule is, rule you ineligible all together, idk if that's the case there or not, but that's what it sounds like to me.

If I'm his recruiter I think the first thing I ask him when he tells me he wants to transfer AND PLAY is something like, "Uh, are you sure that you can do that?"

i'm more excited about Tee than any other commit simply because of how thin we are at the position. we need this guy to EE. he could start. if Lo and B-Jack aren't better than GRAY, then Tee could be playing in '12
