Yeah, but PSU was also using a new QB, who I think was a frosh. I look for a closer game this year and would like to see Bama get knocked off.

Take a peak at both starting QBs from PSU last year and how they performed against anything above a mediocre defense...
Bama rolls, and Bama rolls big over PSU. It won't even be close.

Bama will most likely be knocked off by a fellow SEC team. But not PSU.

how is this not good news? It proves that he is a elite RB because how often does Texas reach outside their own state to try to get someone if their not elite.

I believe he is worried that Mahone is interested in a Texas offer.

I understand but i dont think he'll go their. Texas very rarely gets anyone outside of the southwest or Texas. This year out of their 18 verbals only one is from outside of Texas and he's from Arizona. In 2011 out of their 22 only 1 was from outside Texas and he was from Oklahoma. In 2010 out of their 25 they had 3 from outside Texas which include Louisiana, Oklahoma, and (gulp) 5:s: LB Jordan Hicks from Ohio.2009- 19 out of 20 from Texas other from Arkansas. 2008-19 of 20 from TX other from Colorado.

Solid points but you must have missed the Conference RumorMill. This would mark Texas's first foray into establishing a beachhead in OSU's backyard.

Actually I'm with you. The Horns have a verbal from Rivals #1 RB, Gray, already this year and signed the #1 RB, Brown, in '11 as well. Phil Steele expects Brown to start this year and revive the tradtion of 1,000 yard RBs at UT.

A UT offer would add to Mahone's cohort but PT will be more likely at ND.

I agree. State Penn's non conference scehedule is mostly garbage. They have Alabama this year and last, but Indiana State, Toledo, Temple, Akron, Kent, Eastern Michigan, Youngstown St. , Ohio, Rutgers. Plus they get Illinios, Minnesota, Indiana, and Northwestern. Their non confernce schedule in years past and in the future is a joke. They are almost guaranteed a bowl game because their schedule is so cupcake.

hey....that sounds like Posu's out of conference schedule. Just ask any Suckeye fan around here. They make it out that playing the Big Ten schedule and then playing four MAC schools is like running a marathon while carrying a 400 lb. fat man in the middle of august. They'd like to dumb it down a bit. LMFAO

I feel like that's more because they don't have to though. They still get amazing classes don't they?

Yes they still ahve top 5 classes every year but after there junior day when they usually get 15-20 commits they have about 5 spots left to use on any one they want in the whole country. They offer most 5 star prospects like every one else but arent very good at getting the ones from outside the Southwest or Texas.

+ 1

I feel like Texas is the best HS football state in the country. On a side note, I had a legit nightmare a few days back that Mahone didn't commit with ND. I woke up in sweats, no joke.

We need you William!

FL or CA are probably better for football talent, but their top recruits generally don't go to one school. FL's top players generally go between UF, FSU, and Miami. CA spreads them out to Cal, USC, UCLA, and some to Stanford, ND, etc. Compare that to Texas where 90+% of the top recruits go to UT, yet UT doesn't seem to be any better than the best team in CA or FL.

Mahone wants to take his OV's and the only one for sure so far is Notre Dame. Wants to decide before football playoffs starts. Parents love the Irish

Either a player like William is a riverboat gambler [given what is going on with ND scholarship numbers and the number of other backs apparently offered] or perhaps he is that famous legendary creature, the "silent commit". I would understand the latter in a young man who wants the fun of all the OVs, but it sure makes my life more nervous. Hope you're coming our way youngster; we need your talent.
