I think there is a little shame to go around in this scenario. Ultimately, it's a favor to IU football to get any pub, so they should have been gracious for an interview. If the coach wants to act like a ****, that's his perrogative, his players and recruits will no doubt appreciate it, and it may pay dividends there. I believe, however, it was unprofessional for him to continue on with it like a petulant child, whining and moaning about it. He really can't treat the media like that and have a successful coaching stint. I can see the benefit for changing the culture, but you went a little too far boss.
The hosts were certainly shocked at first, thye couldn't believe the guy was getting on them about it, and they responded accordingly; but again, they went on with it for far too long. Since he wasn't interested in giving the interview, they rightfully let him go. I think they could've acted a little more professionally at the end, that's my only gripe with the hosts. Threatening to go talk to lots of "IU people" after the show was pretty amateur. Sitting there ripping on him for it is more appropriate than thinly veiled threats impacting the coach's job situation.
