I've seen many kids say the same thing about a Notre Dame offer and go elsewhere. I simply do not understand why skill position players would want to go there and join a ridiculously crowded backfield.

Per ISD, Byron moved up his visit to Friday to watch practice, since ND does not practice Saturday.

I'm perfectly okay with someone moving their visit up. Good news. I hope he likes what he sees.

I believe Friday is slated for a double. Can't hurt to have him watch two practices instead of one.

Should we be expecting a decision this weekend? Or does he plan to wait it out and take some officials?

He sounds like he's going to take his time, but you never know when ND's magic will strike. On-campus visits are powerful.

I don't think we can expect a decision this weekend. I think this kid is going to play this out a little longer. I hope he likes his visit though and leaves with a very favorable impression. This kid would be a very nice get.

No. No decision for a long time. But as with everything recruiting, timetables are constantly subject to change.

My thought process is that the staff puts him in the pressure cooker with the limited spots available riff.

"You saw what happened with that DT who waited too long, didn't you?"

I'd say we don't have much leverage to make such an implicit threat.

Agree with those saying that our "lack of space" isn't a credible threat yet with RBs. They know we're thin and that we need at least two this cycle.

That changes if and when we get our first RB commit, though. Once Mahone verbals, look out.

Good call, considering we were only taking one DT in this cycle. However, it's no secret spots are filling up and we're in the mix for some standout backs. I'm not sure if there's a HIPPA-type policy that prevents coaches from letting recruits know where in the process other recruits may be in their decision, but you'd think from the internet and hearsay that these kids know the situation involving each team they're considering. For example: RB is considering ND. So is 5 others. ND has room for 2 RBs. Common sense says that if you want to be a part of that team, you jump on board before the others do.

Do you think if we had one committed that it'd be easier to use that last spot as leverage?

Man...to those on campus for the first time ever today: weather could not be any more perfect.

Nice.

I agree that you won't be able to use the "hurry and commit before the others do" tactic in the RB case. ND is waiting on elite running backs. KMarshall isn't deciding anytime soon and sounds like neither Mahone nor BMarshall will decide anytime soon as well.

I don't see ND taking any other RB until they hear what the 3 mentioned have decided. KRussell is another name but recent talk is he may be looked at slot...and he says he likes that idea.

Is is possible that ND could take all three....yes. Would they like to...yes. So I don't see any RB ND is after feeling the pressure......unless ND is near their quota for the year and only one back is committed then I can see the pressure mounting for the remaining two.
