I like the runningbacks playing runningback and line backers playing linebacker but if it works and kelly likes it than it will work

Manti was a load at RB. He would be a faster Robert HUGHES....The USC LB core just crapped themselves!!!!!!!!!!lol lol

Speaking of 2 way players TOMA is a pretty good CB and Kona a not bad TE!!!!!!!

I'm all in for this idea. Remember Stanford pounding the hell out of people last year and defenses could do nothing about it? Especially short yardage situations. They'd go double tight, have marecic at FB, and their "wing" was a 300 pound third string tackle.

I'd love to see a short yardage/ goal line package with Teo in the backfield, maybe double tight Power I or wildcat.

Package name = Haka

Haka...Yea, I like that

Oh yeah...and if Louis Nix wants to be the next Fridge, let him in too. Spread em and run em all up and down the field, then inside the 10 go smash mouth football and tell the defense...you know what we're doing and you can't stop us

...I love that too

...panic stricken D trying like hell to keep up with the pace...high stress, and heavy fatigue, then the demoralizing hammer you can do nothing to stop...hehehehe

we'd have them crying like little girls...too funny.

Nix wants goal line touches too. Rather not risk injury with Te'o.

With all the concerns expressed about a possible injury to a 4th String QB fielding kicks why risk the All-American LB when there are lots of other big bodies with a quick burst off the line?

Is it even 'legal' to do since we have a #5 already on offense?

in having all the fun dreaming, I never thought of that...Great question...I don't know. Maybe thats why I never liked the duplicate number thing...

It would be interesting (or hell to pay if your on defense) with Teo lined up behind a d-lineman. What a heavy or jumbo package that would be. Whats the word in Galic for heavy or jumbo?

Then have Hendrix bootleg it after a play action!!! Keep em guessing guys :D

Manti as a goal line back.

Manti as a goal line back.

Is an absolutely terrible idea.

The way he runs reminds me a lot of Zibby. He's relentless, fearless, and looks like a man on a suicide mission. Our punt return game hasn't been at all dynamic since Zibby left. Watching his punt return (live) against USC in '05 was one of the greatest moments of my life. I realize that Manti almost certainly won't end up returning punts but I'd love to see it happen.

I think Manti should get the "rock" for a play or two this season. I would not be in favor of him doing it too much, but I can see an occasional goal-line situation in a big game. Would be fun to watch!

Is an absolutely terrible idea.

Manti seems like a better option than our current fullback for goal line. Oh wait, we don't have fullbacks.

My Haka Package looks like...

TE Kona
LT Martin
LG Watt
C Cave
RG Trob
RT Dever
TE Eifert

QB= doesn't matter
FB= Nix/ Stockton/ Hafis
TB = doesn't matter

Wing back = manti

I say no way. He just got over a knee injury so I don't want him rushing towards a large group of men who are basically jostling at around knee level. I think it would be great to see Manti get some touches, but I guess I'm just a little too conservative. Maybe I should get a sweater vest...

You want someone quick at FB if they're leading the play. Wouldn't a guy with that "explosive first step" ala Lynch, Tuiit, or any of the big pass rushers be a better choice than interior DLs?

Schwapp was a load but he started up like an 18 wheeler from a stop light. Everybody was waiting on him, usually in our backfield.

If I'm running a sweep, option, reverse, or screen, yes I would want a quicker fullback.

Inside the 10? 3rd and 1? 4th and 1? I'm going between the tackles. I tell the tailback to grab the back of the fullback's jersey and keep the feet moving.
