ND giving Day a ultimatem when knowing Schutt was going to commit and Michigan denying his visit tells me recruiting services have Schutt overrated.

Not necessarily.

I just think we're greedy fans.

We need a championship.

I don't see the logic in this. There is more to this story, I promise you. We do not know enough about the story to make an assumption that he is overrated. This kid could verbal to Wisconson, Ohio State, Florida or Auburn tomorrow if he wanted to.

I still feel like this is a huge mistake, but hopefully it says something about the coaching staff's feeling on our chances with Jones.

I'm with el duderino on this one...

There is something more to this story, and I do trust Coach Kelly and staff.

I just think if we can land Jones to go along with Day, then there is nothing to worry about.

Maybe the staff has Jarron's commitment level pinpointed and decided to wait it out with him, rather than fill the spot with Schutt

You do not know if all of these "verbal" offers are actionable.

Poster on II:

By pure coincidence, it turns out his god father has been a customer of mine for a few years and I was unaware of the relationship. The man just walked in my door. After our usual 5 minutes of talking generic football, I asked "Speaking of college, have you heard of Jarron Jones at Aquinas?" and he said, "Yeah, he's my god son."
I was stunned for a moment, then instantly asked where he's going to college and his response was that "He's a 17 year old kid, and he's loved every school he's seen, but it's between ND and Penn State. It would have been North Carolina until they fired Butch Davis. I'm a Michigan fan, so I hate ND and I hope it's Penn State, but if he clears admissions, It'll be ND. He just absolutely loved that place."
These are direct quotes from his god father to me 20 minutes ago. The guy is an assistant football coach at another local high school in his spare time and is on top of this situation. Combined with the fact that JJ's coach and AD are pushing for ND, things look VERY good for us.

What do we know about the likelihood of him passing admissions? I've heard conflicting reports about this staff sending out offers to kids who may not be able to pass admissions, while others are saying that's completely untrue and that all written offers that have been sent out are to kids who will more than likely be admitted.

We are doing a very good job at recruiting defensive lineman, finally! We need an elite safety now.
I think Jarron is going to ultimately end up being Irish.

If a nut get cuts off in the forest, and no one is there..... does it make a sound?

I had this guy named Don that I used to work with, and he had only one testicle, and he was also the hardest worker I ever met. People would occasionally ask, "Where is Don?" And somebody would point; and then you would always hear, "Man look over there, Don is really working his nut off!"

As far as Shutt being overrated, I don't think that was the case so much as Day may have been somewhat underrated.

Both seem to sit a step behind Jones, since this is football and Jones is built like the Rancor.

I bet Jarron would want us to have the cajones to not get too far off topic in his thread
