So why not create an athlete catagory instead of projecting him to MLB? Not asking you Lax, more of a retorical question.

Preaching to the choir... and they really need to differentiate between different types of athletes... because you have athletes like Deanthony Thomas vs. athletes like David Perkins. And I have no idea how you can possibly rank/compare the two.

The thought of that at MLB is awesome. Whether it's next to Manti next year or Kendall Moore the year after, those are athletes up the middle.

He could always have his own goal line package too. :)

I mean, a 4.45 40 S/MLB/QB. That's straight Tebow stuff right there.

I agree, but it does seem to me that some of our safeties could be moving to WR or LB depending on who else we pick up. I hope Baratti sticks. I love a Harrison Smith-size player to remind people that they might not want to catch one over the member.

Hard to see him playing next year. He has to beat out Calabrese, Moore, Fox, Utupo, Rabasa, and Grace.

I don't know why, but that didn't seem like a 4.45. That's awesome for his size though, really fast.

He's big, fast, and from the limited film we've seen of him playing S, he hits very hard. MLB or S, I'm glad this kid's Irish.

He could get huge, too. Could easily see him adding some muscle to that frame. Legs are like tree trunks already.

LOL - I thought the same thing.

And wait until he gets with Longo. He'll be that size but toned up. Kid could be special...

Could be the next Hayseed. He's going to get great coaching at Notre Dame, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some early playing time at safety. Very under-rated at this point. Depending upon how the quarterback situation pans out over the next couple of years, I wouldn't be surprised to see him running the wildcat as a change of pace. This young man is a player, and the coaches will learn where he fits best and give him the chance to earn time on the field.

I understand the MLB comments now. He has the right build for it; a wide frame that could easily be 240-250 lbs without losing speed.

Consensus 4* athlete if you change his skin color.

Agreed. We oughta keep this in mind when discussing Cam McDaniel, too. He's another consensus 4:s: if you change his skin color.

So does that apply to all white, non-linemen 3-stars or just ours?

How about all white non-QB Skill recruits that (1) Win Texas 5A PoY; and (2) Produce tremendously in Texas 5A football?

Did Barrati win5A poy? And doesn't he play QB but projected to play defense? So, no matter how well he played at QB, isn't his production basically irrelevant since A) it wasn't at his college position (not even close) and B) it wasn't in 7 on 7?

Lol, jk man.
