So that's three alternate uniforms for the 2011 year:

- The greens
- The throwbacks
- The "Not even Oregon is doing this" jerseys

my guess is jersey number 3...same pattern as the marching band leaders kilts!

I remember way back when ND basketball team under Dig Her Phelps came out with hideous lime green uniforms.

If it's something Oregon isn't doing then there is no way it would be neon. They've definitely covered that.

Maryland. I have a feeling that the green jerseys become our barnstorming uniform.
I like this idea-green for all the neutral site regular season games like the Rockne/Leahey days. Major Bowl go with the Navy or white. But can I please have the old gold helmet color back.

^^^^ 1,000% The new helmets seem to have a grayish undertone (that what I kinda think) If you compare the 80's helmets and todays, the 80's looked WWAAYYYYY better.
I think I read somewhere that ND had to change the paint due to what the new helmets are made out of. I could be wrong, if so, o well, sue me. :)

Solid black homes with white numbers trimmed in green... solid gold alt J's to add to that...

and white aways with green numbers for road games...

Do you guys think that the Leprechaun gloves are what Kelly was referring to?

Because, maybe Kelly was exaggerating a bit... I can see how they'd be considered pretty ridiculous.

Just my 2 cents on the possibility.

those type of gloves were outlawed for games by the NCAA I believe so I doubt it. They are now practice only if I heard correctly.

I heard this before and thanks for reminding me but its hard to understand with todays technology that they cant duplicate that glorious color-hell Fla State even keep the basic old gold even if they jazz it up with all that crap they put on it. There is no reason the old gold color should not be duplicated. I'm glad someone else agrees with me on this as my first time seeing those helmets gleaming in the sun at Pitt Stadium in 1968 birthed my Notre Dame alligence. Now we look like Navy. The more I think about this I wish I could start a thread on this matter-this helmet color issue stinks. Nobody likes the color and this team is about to start winning ball games in a big way. I dont want to be a "Nancy" about this but the damn helmet color is wrong. I guarantee you if Holtz/Ara were running the show the color would be back to what it was. Change the damn color!!!!! Plus if you look at it another way they havent won jack with that new helmet color-I'm just saying.

I remember reading about ten years or so ago that ND stopped putting the actual gold in the paint... maybe that has something to do with the different 'shine' ???

could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I remember reading that... a response to the whole Mark Ingram title game thing... lame

Ohio State wore similar gloves last year. They were also flagged a couple times for unsportsmanlike conduct for holding them up. LOL at the Big Ten.

hey come on now, purdue's solid blackout unis are sick.

plus i went there, and even though i don't root for purdue, i love that steaming, festering, ****hole. best 4 years of my life. except maybe one day in 2007.

OK. I apologize. My brother is a Boilermaker, too. But we don't need to copy their uniform color.

Sorry, I'm not trying to discredit you, but I can't find any Google info on this topic for the life of me. I wouldn't think they would ban those gloves though because they just made it okay in 2011 to wear gloves that aren't gray.

I'm 99% sure the gloves are legal for games. I don't think they would have shipped three different colors just for practice. As long as they don't flash them and get penalties I think they're fine.

Then again, we'll probably get an unsportmanlike penalty against Michigan when Floyd tosses the ball to the ref because while doing so the ref saw part of the leprechaun.

Oregon has done neon, black, so if it was something truely crazy it would be gold or something gross like that

Most the time teams where new jerseys in order to get fans to buy new jerseys... I would believe if they were really going to launch a new jersey for a game, they would already be selling it at hammes

I bet the "not even Oregon is doing this" jerseys will be some sort of shamrock/leprechaun pattern on the jersey. Say, gold or green shamrocks on blue jerseys?

the difference is that Ohio State didn't have them approved by the Big Ten prior to using them

i would dig blue/gold shoes.

green jersey game v. USC is ok by me, seeing as that now all game with reggie are wins in my book.

i would not be ok with any variation of the pants or helmets. there's a certain level of pride and tradition about notre dame and its old school simplicity that separates us from the rest, but the recruits love rocking the new hotness. its bad enough we have to rock adidas cleats when everyone one knows their shoe game is weak. its all about that nike check. i would LOVE to see some Air Jordan ND gear in the future a-la the Georgetown Hoya hoops squad.
