Well now we all know we will have to wait till Aug 7th. I feel pretty good about our chances. It would be a great pick-up for us at a position of need. Pick Notre Dame young man.

“@DMBerk: Long talk with William Mahone and #MichiganState looks to be 4th in the race as they are looking at him for defense and he wants to be a RB”

He was at Pitt this weekend with them. Don't know if that has any bearing on his decision.

i'm no map, but pitt can't be more than 2 hours from his home if that's weighing anything on his decision.

I can't see him going to Pitt. Have you guys looked at the rushing attempts by RB's in Todd Graham's offense? Makes us look like Wisconsin in comparison.

Pitt has always been a contender, but it was last reported that they were 3rd behind PSU and ND.

You sure? He just retweeted this:

@willywaves neither ND or PSU have put the quality players in the NFL close to what Pitt has in your lifetime. Don't believe the hype!

Stands to reason you don't retweet something unless you believe... which would be hilarious considering all of the many coaching changes at Pitt and how the offense they're going to feature doesn't run the ball.

It's doubly funny because beyond LeSean McCoy I can't think of a single RB they've put in the NFL. Whereas Penn State has had many many guys like Larry Johnson... and Ryan Grant from ND (until he missed the whole season last year with an ankle injury) was more highly rated guy than McCoy (at least on fantasy football draft boards).

Like I said, it was "last reported". I got the info from somewhere else; I didn't come up with it. :p

And you can't think of another Pitt RB besides McCoy who played in the NFL? Really?

Or is this in reference to the "in his lifetime" thing? That would make sense then. There would be two now though.

Ney, three. I forgot one of them. He just barely makes the "lifetime" cut.

In his lifetime. Besides McCoy and late draft pick Dion Lewis... who? And now they have a coach that doesn't run the ball. Go figure.

The third would be Curtis Martin.

Is it a fact that Graham is going to use the same system though? (Note: I'm not trying to quarrel; I just really have no idea.)

I'd say it's a bad sign for ND that he hasn't commit to us by now.

From our standpoint it seems like the perfect fit for him (especially after that 3 part story) and I just think if he agreed with that he'd already be verbal.

I'm going out on a limb to say he is a Pitt lean after his teammates committed there AND he chose to visit Pitt this weekend instead of playing in Gridiron Kings AND he is retweeting stuff in favor of Pitt.

Ah good one. He might just count... although his last good year (2004) Will would've a whopping 10 years old for.

I told ya "just barely". :)

And I keep forgetting how I'm older than these guys now. It's a bit weird.

Certainly looks very possible... Buuut maybe he has to go home and talk it over with momma.. Who, is in favor of the Notre Dame experience.
