Would be sick.. I think if BK n the boys come out dominating the pack, it will open the flood gates.

Shittu doesn't have an offer and isn't likely to get one unless our coaches decide to pursue NGs. It kinda shocks me that Day has an offer but Shittu does not... but hey, what do I know.

I was not aware.. I'll just assume the coaches are confident in Day signing or something.. after Diaco's legendary visit I will always trust.

I just don't really Day very much as a prospect. I think he has a low upside. I like Kirven/Jones better as DEs and Schutt/Shittu better as a NG... but we really aren't pushing for Schutt or Shittu. Which means Day is being recruited mostly as a DE (which is also what a lot of knowledgeable talking heads are saying) and I just don't see it.

But as I said... what the hell do I know?

I'm with you. Don't like the NG depth really. Obviously Nix is only a RS FR, but what seem like our next 3 NGs (Cwynar, Hafis, Newman) are all RS JRs and Stockton is a RS SO. It doesn't make sense not to take one this year IMO. We take none this year, and all we have returning in 2013 is RS JR Nix and RS SR Stockton along with whatevere frosh we would theoretically take. Maybe we're switching to more of a 4-man front, but I agree, I think we need a NG or two this year.

Peat has been all about Auburn lately on his twitter page.

I don't know if he just likes the attention or what.

He seems to be loving the limelight one gets as a five star recruit and I'm taking his tweets with a grain of salt (although he did seem to love South Bend even on a rainy day). I think he's still very far off from a decision, but Peat's moved far up my list of pipe dreams with Kalis officially committing and Theus leaving us out of his top three.

Texas commit Cayleb Jones says he's been recruiting OT Andrus Peat (Tempe, Az.) & ATH Nelson Agholor (Tampa, Fl) very hard. #gridironkings

"JHopkins247:Andrus Peat headed to #Texas today. #Hookem RT @AndrusPeat: At the airport about to leave for Texas"

I have a feeling Texas will be very high on his list after this visit. As rtrn2glory mentioned, we need the A-Team on Peat.

Hope he hates it...I think Texas has Peat and DGB as their top priorities to top off their class this year. So you know they will pull out all the stops while he is there.

Yeah with 20 prospects already committed, they hardly have room for too many more.

Yeah I love that strategy. Load up on quality kids in state to fill your class and then go balls to the wall for some 5*s. Absolutely have to admire the way Texas recruits each year.

You know LAX, there is talk their strategy has hurt them recently. They've filled their class up so early with junior stars (like a couple of months after their junior seasons end), and they miss out on guys that blow up later on in the 7 on 7 circuit (say, ND's Greenbury) or guys that blow up their senior year. And they also take a guy or three that max out their junior years and don't improve (especially considering they already have that ride in their pocket, so they don't work as hard).

Now, this came out only after they had an 8-5 season. Before that, it was all roses and daisies when people talked about their recruiting. I'm with you...I always envied the way they did it. But the 'haters' did put a new spin on it, and it's something to watch out for.

Still, its pretty easy to argue that they have enough pieces to compete for the NC every year. I bet every coach in the country would trade for Texas' situation.

It's insane that Texas only has 1 National Title in the BCS era with their location, history, and ability to essentially hand pick any kid they want out of the state.

*With A & M looking like they may experience a re-surgence on the field, hopefully they can continue to steal some of the guys that would otherwise be Bonghorns.
