That right hand reach towards the Sooners hat by Romine was COOOOOLD BLOODED! (to quote Dave Chappelle, and the famed Rick James series from his show).

Getting him was pretty big. Looking forward to seeing him on the line in the near future.

Matt to me is a solid three star, i think he will be very good when he get in the gym with Mendoza. , little slow but that and mass will improve. what say you?

Better than three if you ask me. If OU and Miami are knocking on his door, I'd say he's a 4 star. If he's able to hold his own in the AAA game against Everson Griffen, he's a 4 star.

Agreed. A solid 4 at least. Remember he was voted as one of the West team captains by his peirs for the AAA game.

Another classic example of how hard it is to project linemen at the next level.

No kidding. I had no idea he was rated the #55 player in the '07 class. Only played in 15 games during his career at ND. All that potential....

Another OL that didn't develop under Weis and Company.

This sounds eerily familiar. It seems like fans will think this no matter who the coach is. I hope we are more justified in our confidence in Longo than we were with our confidence in Mendoza. I think there is evidence that supports our confidence in Longo, but when I see stuff like this it makes me question it a little.

I'm also inclined to put this more on Weis' staff than Romine.

How many talented kids entrusted their football careers to Davie, Willingham, and Weis, only to end up like Romine? Makes me sick just thinking about it.

You hit the nail on head. This is a great example of a highly touted four star kid not working out the way everyone hopes. Player development was lacking under previous staffs. I am hoping that with Bk we won't see nearly as many recruits talents go wasted. I wish this kid the best of luck.

I actually think that Willingham was good at developing talent...he just wasn't good at getting talent onto campus.

You never like to see 'em go. Period. I wish him the best of luck at Tulsa.

This frees up a scholarship now, right?
