they were just talking about having the #2 and #3 CB's in this class with Darby and Shepard, and some one said it had been awhile since that has happen with the CB group.

so i brought up Walls and McNeil as two CB's that were rated high by the recruiting services and in the same class.

The thing that makes me highly optimistic about the young stud DBs is that they will not have to cover for long. Lynch, Tuitt, and Ishaq will see to that. If I had been a high school corner this year, I would have been weighing that in [and I bet the staff mentioned it].

This, to me, was a huge surprise.

It was cold, rainy, and miserable in South Bend today. 75% of the crowd bolted at the half.

I saw Ronald on the sidelines shaking hands and chatting it up with Kyle Rudolph. I also saw Ian Williams and David Grimes, as well.

Walls and McNeil were the '06 class, and Gray was the '07. All 3 were top 10 CBs, with Gray probably being the highest rated overall.

the big difference is Darby has stupid speed.. very cool to see ND bring in a guy who is arguably the fastest player in the country.. usually those players are from the south and stay south at the LSUs, Floridas, Bamas.. huge get IMHO, perhaps just as important as a potential Marshall or DGB

No, someone said it made them giddy to see two top CBs committed to ND as it had "been awhile", and then people pointed out that we had multiple top 10 CB commits circa 3-4 years ago.

It's all really a moot point.
