Before he left for his trip he said he was just going to check out ND and he wasn't ready to narrow down his schools yet. He was planning trips to Bama FSU and others. I wonder if he still plans to go? I am excited that he committed but I hope it was just not getting caught up in the moment. We are going to have to fight like hell to keep him.

One thing CBK and staff proved last year is they will fight like hell to keep these kids committed.

IrishIllustrated.com - Darby makes quick decision

Steve Hare
4/16

"I really like defense best and special teams," Darby previously told IrishIllustrated.com. "I like to be the one to deliver the hit."

There's no doubt he's one of the fastest sprinters in the country, not after running a 6.28-second time in the 55-meter dash during January's Hispanic Games in New York City. He also clocked a 21.28-second time in the 200-meter dash. Both sprints were the fastest in the nation at the time.

That same week he ran the best 40-yard dash at the Under Armour All-American Combine in Orlando, Fla. His 4.31-second electronically timed 40 proved just how fast Darby can run and how quickly he accelerates to full speed.

Track speed doesn't always translate to the football field, but it has in Darby's case.

His hand time has to be a 4.2 flat...good lord

I can't wait to hear the media talk about the Fighting Irish and the fastest player in the nation, Ronald Darby.

You just don't get it. Darby just doesn't have that "Southern Speed". No one born above or near the Mason-Dixon line has "Southern Speed". Except the kids from the north who come to the south to play football, but they get it by osmosis.

Darby's out of luck. His 40 time might be impressive now, but once he REALLY comes to the north, it'll probably be more like a 7.5 40.

SOUTHERN SPEED.

Awesome news. BK has certainly proved that when he attacks a certain position on the field, he gets elite athletes at that spot. Last year it was the defensive front seven and he brought in the best front seven in the country. This year, it was made clear that the secondary was a priority and he has started out with two of the top five defensive backs in the country.

With the two Cornerbacks on roster now, the only thing I can think of is that we are going to be very young after this season at corner.

Speed eliminates mistakes. He will have a legit shot to play nickle or dime when he walks on campus.

Great pickup... but we still need beef upfront.

what about Walls(7) and McNeil(9), they were in the same class, again not 2 and 3 but still top 10

This is awesome!

I'm not as well-versed in recruiting as most of you guys - I get all my info from all of you - but I watched video and read some stuff about this kid, and I was REALLY hoping we'd get him. If speed kills, then this kid is a total assassin!

Welcome home, Ronald! We're all really happy you're here!
