...he sure makes up for in confidence. If his vision/ability to follow blocks is half as good this year as he makes it sound in this interview, I love the prospect of him breaking out for a huge year. I usually like guys to put up some larger numbers before they go making bold statements (see: Jimmy Clausen predicting multiple championships) but I do love that he has some swagger.

Love Swagger as well...but lets see it on the field. Nothing worse than a guy with swagger that doesn't do anything.

Would love for Wood to tear it up this year. Hold on to the ball, don't blow blocking assignments, and run north/south. And you will have success

I am a known Wood doubter around these parts. And would love to be proved wrong.

I'm not really sure how anyone with eyeballs can be a wood doubter.

It's an insane goal. Would require 150+ yards per game in a 13 game schedule.

Chris Johnson's goal of 2,500 was ridiculous as well. Great players set almost unattainable goals for themselves as a way to stay motivated. Cierre Wood has yet to show that he is a great player to this point, but I like the swagger. ND needs a new swagger and guys like Aaron Lynch and Cierre Wood have "it."

That goal is a bit toooo lofty.
1200 is lofty unless BK realllly relies on the run more than he ever has before.

He sure did look fantastic for the last few games of the season though!

One wonders about the context of the "2000 yard" statement. If he was joking around, so be it. If he was serious but meant that he was going to give it all he had, and the 2000 was just the allegorical way of responding to a query about 1000-yard rushers, then OK. But if he was serious about 2000-yards period, then that bothers me a bit. It's a little too egocentric for my tastes. I'm going to assume that he has more maturity than that, and think the best.

Wood is going to be a heck of a RB, you have to think he was only a Freshmen on the field last year and had spurts of a greatness. I know he is actually a Sophmore but more than likely if he request for a 5th year he will get it.

not another Bennett interview...nooooooooo :D lol

Great to hear him and see him so confident. If it wasn't for the other stuff I've been hearing, I might be bother by it and call it arrogance but everybody is confirming that hes is becoming outstanding!
Can't wait to see him in action...at least at the Spring Game! :)

Notre Dame hasn't had a 1,000-yard rusher since Darius Walker did it in 2006. That history doesn't faze Cierre Wood.

OMFG.............5 YEARS!?!?!??! In a pass happy offense, it's been 5 YEARS since ND has had a 1,000 yard rusher?

In other news............ water is wet!

Didn't see the interview, but when I hear all this about "swagger," I think of "swagger" as somebody moving his *** down the field, making moves, making great catches, being tough, and generally playing like a champion. And doing it without feeling the necessity to talk about it ad infinitum, or at all, for that matter. Shut up and let your performance provide the swagger instead of talking about how great you are or how great you want to be, or how great you're going to be. I actually recall when it was considered in bad taste to blow your own horn. Just shut up and play. (Again, didn't hear what Cierre had to say, and this is not a personal attack aimed directly at him, just at all the sports prima donnas who always seem to have to run their mouths all the time. That's not "swagger" to me, that's just BS. Anybody can do it).

I love his confidence and i really hope he hits 2000 thousand yards, which would be incredible. But if i remember right a certain NFL running back who goes by the name of steven jackson was predicting 2500 all purpose yards season and came out and took a dump

I love the confidence that Cierre has and it seems like he and Gray can be a nice 1-2 punch for the Irish run game.
Cierre is going to shock college football world in 2011!!

I love everything about Cierre Wood.

Everything.

Do not doubt him, he will be one of the best running backs we've ever seen.

He's so obviously on another plain athletically that it's not even funny.

If he didn't improve his per carry average at all (5.5 ypc) and only increased his carries from 14 to 18... then viola'... 1,188 yards.

Thats a lot of "if's"... but whatev.

His stats from last season would have translated into a 1,000+ season, if he would have started the entire year.
