it would be sooooooooo great if Tennessee was implicated, and Kiffin was caught up in all of it.. wishful thinking I guess...haha.

it would not be good if this affected kiffin in a way that pulled him away from USC. i would love it if the implications cost USC something as well, but if it's just kiffin and it costs him his USC job i will be irate. him being at USC makes it easier to:
A. Hate USC
B. Believe that it is only a matter of time until that program is officially run into the ground with kiffin at the helm

Cowherd also said it was a top 10-12 program. If he means rankings then we are out. If he means in popularity then we are still a possibility. Hopefully he means in the rankings.

Possibly the one time I'm glad we are behind the pack....

But seriously,

I'm hard pressed to believe it is ND. Kelly and Weis are both class acts, neither of them took shortcuts I believe.

It's most definitely Notre Dame.

Weis gave Roby Toma a golden throne upon his commitment.

I heard Notre Dame is busted because they recruited players, and gave them an education in return for the participation in the football program. Huge investigation going on right now....apparently its been confirmed on multiple accounts on the football team. Further investigation shows this practice has been going on at Notre Dame for years and years.

It would be very hard to believe we could cheat and just be so bad at it. I think a few People think it's us cause they don't have a explanation for us Pulling Lynch and Tuitt out of SEC country

If it's ND I'm going to be pissed that we weren't even good when we cheated.

Is this the same story or a different story than the one that was floating around the interweb and was discussed on here a few days ago? If its the same, $10 says Cowherd's source is some football team's message board. That guy is terrible at his job, and I would guess at every other area of his life, too.

Can I ask when there are not rumors that a major college program is cheating in some form or fashion? I'm not saying there is nothing to the rumors; I'm saying what is the point of talking about it until there is something more concrete than some message board poster and Colin Cowherd hearing whispers?

The comment He made of it being a rival of USC and not UCLA could point to ND. Who is USC’s biggest rival after UCLA?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

It seems with all the info, it points to either Oregon or Stanford (if true at all)

1) Rival of USC (but not UCLA)
2) Someone you wouldnt expect
3) Major top 10 program

Just trying to read the tea leaves.

Just to restate an earlier post of mine, what you hear around the USC world, apparently there are multiple players who claim they were offered money by Oregon. Take it for what it's worth, that university is full of liars, but it's hard to see it not being Oregon.

Anyone know when this story is supposed to come out? It's amazing that this can be kept under wraps for weeks now.

Yeah you've got to think someone is going to leak it sooner rather than later. I wonder if they are waiting until the end of March Madness to release it so they get maximum play time out of it over the summer.

Another fun fact: Cowherd is from the Northwest and spent a couple years in Oregon. Connection or coincidence to him having an inside scoop?

He worked in Portland for a while. It is possible he has an inside connection but I doubt it. It is my contention that that bashes Oregon just as much as ND.

Mostly because Eugene isnt bathed in sun 12 months out of the year, the beaches are windy and the women are not that hot. Hes right about the sun and beaches, but the wimenz are delightful.

Cowheard is taking the same info this board chewed over and is speculating for the good of his show...

he can't talk about until ESPN does??? Doesn't he represent ESPN?? please... if that were the case then everyone at ESPN is in the know and just won't run with it... that tells me one of two things... it's (Cowheard's comments) complete B.S. and ESPN is dealing with the same info we are... or ESPN is sitting on what could be the cfb story of the decade (ND major scandal) for no good reason or because they know the sources may not be legit... if they had something on ND it would leak in a matter of minutes... period. I guess a third option would be it's not as big as he is making it and tying it to ND as long as possible helps his ratings...

oh, and btw, if this turns out to be legit.... it's Texas

Unless you were waiting until after March madness for ultimate air time over the dead period of summer. Yeah, very unlikely, but still kinda-sorta possible I guess.

I dont think it's Tennessee. The NCAA just released what they found during their investigation. I would not be suprised to see this fall on Oregon. DeAnthony Thomas to Oregon that late in the game? And he is from Crenshaw? Hmmmm. If it is Oregon, we should expect to have Christian French by spring practice.

Yeah, I have heard rumors that ND coaches have been known to brag to recruits and their parents about high graduation rates for student athletes and things like that while out recruiting.
