Ah couldn't tell you but I do know there are several "Buckeye/Wolverine" shops in the area which would support the claim that NWO is split between OSU and Michigan.

Being a bandwagon fan IMO has nothing to do with where you live. That is some of the worst reasoning in the entire discussion.

meijers maybe???? being a bandwagon fan has alot to do with where you live, you live in ohio and are/were a fan of the braves (a team located 7 states away)because they were good(why else would anybody choose to listen to chip caray lol) not for any other reason. you must have another definition of bandwagon fan...

I will make it up to you and give you 3 things I like about Cleveland...

1.) The Flats....I blasted through some pretty HOT cleveland girls ; )

2.) Rockin Roll Hall of Fame

3.) Sorry dude I tried! But I gave you 2

thanks for trying :smilewink

There are some areas in Cleveland that are nice, like the area near Jacobs Field and the Q, the lakefront area isn't bad, the theater district is nice, and there are some very nice suburbs. there are some nice museums--the art museum is one of the best in the world--but other than that there isn't much. a lot of poverty and underdeveloped areas make the city seem worse than it really is.

Huh? Second city guy? That relates to me how?

oops i assumed that because your picture is of a bear that you were a chicago guy and you would realize that every city's population takes up for it. kind of like when new yorkers take shots at chicago for being "the second city".

but like alot of posters on this board i bet you have been a fan of your team since they were good, sometime around 1985 for sure...

I love him. I loved the Cavs when he was there because of him and I love the Heat beacuse he is there now. I think he is awesome and the best player in the league. Im not a Heat fan for any other reason than LBJ. If they went to the finals and lost but Lebron averaged 40 a game, I'm good with that.

I agree with that, but I'd still want the Heat to win it all.

You are wrong, first he does not have a posse, Kevin Garnett did. Second he chose to go to Miami. Everyone else wanted him to go to NY. Get your facts straight and by the way NY isn't as good as Miami.

he got a posse...When Maverick Carter isnt too busy strong arming trinkets from unsuspecting women, he is giving bad advice to Lebron.

I think the only NBA'rs that dont have posse is Brandon Jennings and Zydrunas Illgaukas

Being a bandwagon fan has NOTHING to do with where you live. By your definition, you are a bandwagon fan of Notre Dame. So was your whole family. You live in Ohio, you should be a fan of Ohio State or even Kent State or Akron. See how stupid that sounds?

Bandwagon fan means jumping from team to team depending on who is good. I haven't been a fan of anyone other than the Braves or Notre Dame. Notre Dame has won one national championship, the Braves have won 1 World Series in my lifetime.

I'll also add that Chip Caray began calling games in 2004. How many playoff appearances have the Braves made since then? Don't speak on stuff you obviously have no clue about.

yea the difference between lebrons posse of homeboys and garnetts is lebron gave titles to his leaches beyond "driver", "head of security", and "my chronic guy". i guess you gotta give him credit for that...

poor example, riddle me this, is there is another catholic university with a d1 football program that is located in ohio??? nope, so that really doesnt apply. the braves played in how many world series and won how many games over a 13 year period? yea, probably more than the tigers and indians combined in the last 25 years. yea, thats why you were a fan of them because they won ...or was it because of your love of the way bobby cox still wore his uniform like a little leaguer from the 60's??? lol! so earlier you were a tigers fan and then you were a braves fan; see your definition above.

Why not be a Boston College fan then? Because Notre Dame is a better program? You can spin it however you want. You said bandwagon has to do with location. Therefore, you should be an Ohio State fan.

I understand that reading comprehension is difficult for you. I said I was a casual fan of the Tigers only because they were close enough for me to go to games. Total World Series appearances in 25 years is Braves 5, Indians + Tigers 3. Go back 26 years its 5-4 and World Series wins are tied at 1. Braves haven't been to the WS since 99, Tigers were there in 06. Wouldn't it make sense in your pea sized brain that I'd be a Tigers fan currently?

If a kid who played basketball at Western Michigan, interned at Nike and then finished his education at Akron is a posse then you and I have different definitions of a posse. The whole trinket thing is something that if you don't know the facts about you shouldn't judge someone on, that's all I have to say about that.

I'm sure Carter was able to do score that sweet internship at Nike through his own hard work and aptitude......

Well, he did the internship while Lebron was in high school. I am not naive to know that he had help with it but my point is that he(Maverick) does not equal posse. Sorry

Ben, you have no pride:

Suck it up and deal with it, Cleveland is a dump. Stop defending your city as though it is some sort of holy crusade to make everyone love the Mistake by the Lake. Nobody does (except Clevelanders) and nobody will until the city stops sucking. When somebody says something bad about the reclaimed swampland you live on (read the history), just smile, nod, and take it as a lesson. There is a reason for this.

Simply put, when everyone else in every other city thinks Cleveland is a steaming pile -- but Clevelanders think it's still awesome -- you are outnumbered. We live in a democracy. When every other city in the nation thinks your city sucks, they may be on to something. Take pride in the fact that you have no pride, then suck it up, take the barbs and stop living up to them.

P.S. It's pretty bad when your city gets made fun of by New Jersey!

I know enough to know that it wasnt handled in a professional manner. it was handled by thugs, a posse. it was all very posse-ish. I dont need to know anymore, because my opinion of how it was handled tells me what I need to know. Even if it was stolen property, there are ways to go about getting your stuff back without acting like a thug. MAverick Carter got the trinket back the only way he knew how....

And that guy is Lebron's business manager/partner? There has got to be better ppl out there to handle LeBrons business; maybe he would have ended up in NY instead of partying in South Beach.

BC is a jesuit school and im not a jesuit... try knowing what you are talking about(sound familiar). just admit it, as a kid you felt the need to identify with a winner. some people are like that its ok!

Listen, he has pride in his city. To each his own. Your stay here will be a short one if you continue to crack on where he lives. There are A LOT of great ND fans on here who live in Cleveland and love it there or take great pride in their hometown, and we will respect that. If you have a major problem with that, I suggest you find another site that allows that kind of b.s.

And if he banged on your city on this long thread and I missed it, same goes to him.

Dude, Lebron's posse is well-known. You're living blindly if you choose to ignore that. Just read that Vegas piece or any other numerous pieces about the posse. I'm telling you dude...I love the NBA too much (it's simply not as good of a product as college ball, you never know what team will try hard on any given night, traveling and carrying the ball might as well not be in the rulebook, etc etc), so I read up a ton on it, listen to several different podcasts,w atch it a ton, etc etc. And even if you do know him as you claim, you either don't know the current LeBron or you are lying through your teeth...

I guess it MUST be the dead desperate time between NSD and spring ball to generate a nasty thread like this one became...and Lord preserve me, I read it...groan. What-in-the-world would get us to crap on another board brother's home town??? I lived in Cleveland for four & a half years [PhD studies] and found it to be a complex city with many nice places and many dangerous ones. I don't believe we should be crapping on Akron either. Sheez...if we just HAVE to do it, crap on Wheeling or Kalamazoo [my split-life residences] and I'll just ignore the thread [as I should have done this one]. "Peace. Love. No exams."

i created this thread because i was honsetly curious about how other people viewed lebron--whether most people hated him like i do or most people like him or do not care. i had no idea this would turn into a cleveland-bashing thread.

Cleveland fans are funny. Watch Major League (the last thing Charlie Sheen did that wasn't a disaster) so you have something to cheer about. If Lebron James is such a bad dude, you should be more than happy that he is gone. Instead your bitter. Why? Because when he went to Miami, so went your chances of winning a championship.

Im not from Cleveland so I don't know what your feeling. Everyone is allowed their own opinion. Some of these posts have gone above and beyond lol. It's crazy what the departure of one individual can do to a city.

Just to lengthen that list, without working too hard at it:
a]. the Cleveland Museum of Art;
b].watching my WMU girls play BBall at Quicken Loans;
c].Shaker Heights area;
d].playing city-league ball in the Cleveland leagues;
e].Case Western Reserve University, where the guy let me assistant coach;
f].Cleveland orchestra outdoor concerts;
g].watching a baseball game, since I didn't care who won, and having my brother-in-law steal a foul ball from me--Hah!---it mattered more to him;
h].eating Italian food in Little Italy;
i].two fabulous old book stores---yeh, got to come clean on that one---they're closed now;
.....and many more nice memories of friends, and amateur ball, and historical museums, and ---well, the point is: a town is what you make it. Especially a big complex place like Cleveland. I, for instance, LOVE Chicago, but I'd never say that everywhere in Chicago is a paradise experience. I had a good time in Cleveland. Heck they even gave me my PhD for my troubles.

This part pissed me off of a couple seconds, but it got me thinking. Thats just it. Thats part of the reason why most of the people in northwest Ohio ares still upset about this. NE Ohio is so hungry for a Champion. And we are all tired of "The Drive," "The Fumble," "the '97 World Series Game 7," the '07 ALCS...need I go on. Now you can throw in "The Decision" into that group.

After getting kicked in the gents multiple times, all of NE Ohio is sick of it.

And for you to say that "Im not from Cleveland so I don't know what your feeling." is exactly what it is.
