Who do you wish could have been an EE?

All night I've been getting caught up on the UND.com coverage of NSD.
I just finished watching the interviews of all five early enrollees.

It got me thinking, man I wish a couple other players could have been EEs as well. That would really help them get onto the field next season.

So here's my question.

Who are your top 3 2011 players you wished could have been early enrollees?

(PS. I know this hypothetical and that isn't academically possible for some players, but I'm ignoring those facts just for fun.)

1) DaVaris Daniels - I personally believe that he has the best oppurtunity to be an offensive/special teams playmaker right out the gate. An extra spring could have solidified his development. Of ND current 5 EEs, Golson is the only offensive player. So I thought DaVaris could have followed a path similar to TJ Jones last season who was an EE.

2) Eilar Hardy - This kid is going to be a special DB sooner or later. As an EE, he would have been given the opportunity to be great sooner. It's no secret ND is pretty thin at DBs and Eilar could have made a serious attempt at becoming an immediate contribution. Who knows, maybe he'll still be an instant impact with our thin DB roster.

3) Ben Councell - Ben is no longer a sleeper. People are realizing he is as legit as they get. ND has some solid depth at OLB, but no one is raw and athletic as Councell. The man can fly to the ball and drop back to defend passes. With an extra spring, I think Councell could have seriously excelled his game. Also, added muscle mass from Coach Longo would have been welcome.

So, those are my thoughts (need something to ponder now that the class is solidified).

What do you guys think?

I think that Daniels and Hardy are going to be on the field anyway. They are flat out game changers.

Jalen Brown---get the corners ready. This is the only really vulnerable place we have on this coming year's team [vulnerable to injury, I mean]. [That assumes we have a fully star-quality QB, which is not the focus of this thread]. If Blanton and/or Gray get dinged, we're currently in a crap-load of trouble. Everyplace else we have playable studs standing at the two-deep. Lo Wood and even BJackson might be OK, but we honestly don't know. On the post-signing lengthy interview show, Kelly spoke of Hardy very definitely like a Safety, and Brown [as JoshA] as Corners. [Farley also as a Safety.] With "versatility/big skill" et al that might change, but I think Coach is indicating that he sees Brown as a big possibility at Corner.

Anyone in the secondary. It's the group that could really hold us back in 2012. But for the upcoming season, I don't see too many needs that will be filled with the freshmen, so the kids who play will have earned the playing time.

Brown, Farley, and either of the Atkinsons. We need DB help for next year but, as somebody posted earlier about getting DD as much time as possible with Floyd, I feel George could use as much time with Floyd as possible.

Tuitt, Daniels & Hardy

I thought about listing Tuitt, but then I realized that he is physically already the most ready.

If I had to chose between Lynch and Tuitt as an EE, I'd chose Lynch. He needs to add to his frame some.

I'm glad Aaron is an EE. They should both be pushing for some playing time this fall.

Im going to go with Matt Hegarty. I think it's important for him to spend as much time as possible in Longo's program and as much time developing his technique as possible. I expect Matt to start on the OL for at least two years.

My second choice would be Josh Atkinson. I think he is the best DB in this class. I think he will see the field very early this year.

Daniels so he could have time with Floyd and the QB's so they can get their timing down.
J Atkinson so there's that extra depth a DB.

I like the EE's just the way they are.

I like the DD insight, but giving TJ and Theo one last spring to marinate with MF'er is just what they need to build that hierarchy of leadership that we need to keep the continuity at the WR position, IMHO.

Too many cooks in the kitchen with Ishaq, Lynch, AND Tuitt on campus early. Jalen would have been nice. Have each level of the field covered.

Golson is great. I loved his interview and hope his moxie on the field is as solid as it was on camera.

A CB and 2 OTs to get Longosized and ready to play before they're juniors.
