Dang....this one hurts. I really thought Stephon would stay committed with ND and that he clearly saw at the AAA game what he could've done with Lynch and Williams. I wondered why they were going after Hounshell, who I didn't care to get one way or another. Think Kelly should get him to switch back??

ND is better off without Tuitt anyway. He wasn't Irish material. Not a RKG. Let's face it, he wasn't that good anyway. I mean, he goes to an all-star game and only has one sack and a few tackles <-------- Loser. ND will be a better school without Stephon Tuitt. I predict championships for Notre Dame in 2011-2019.

I wish dumbasses would leave him and his facebook alone....In every interview he sounds like a great kid, Georgia Tech is a great school, close to home, he made the decision he felt was best for him. I wanted him just as bad as anybody, he is going to be a monster, and it sucks we lost him, but for god sakes leave him alone. It's his life, anyone messing w/ him needs to get one of their own. Forums like this are for us to complain to each other and be upset we lost him, personal contact w/ these kids is ridiculous.

They had to know when he started taking visits again. And only to South Schools.

I disagree with he was our most important recruit. Right there in the top 3 for sure.

But, I have to say getting a pass rush specialist was by far the most important get. And we got 2. And they are now in school. If anybody watched the Sun Bowl that was our only problem, hitting the QB. I was there and that was the only issue. And we got 2 guys and that isn't counting Councell and Grace. I wanted Tuitt, because I thought he could get the the QB but really stop the run from his side. Lynch to me was our so huge for us, and then Ishaq before that?? Those were the gets. And then we needed good Olinemen and we got 2 there with possibly 3.

So, speed was our biggest need overall for the entire team. And we got the twins and Ishaq and Lynch--Grace and Councel--total difference makers. I wanted Tuitt like everyone else, but he wasn't the make or break for me.

Pass rushers and speed was mine.

But, the full court on Chase kind of explains itself. BK and the crew knew he was gone.

Irishman: nice attempt to relieve stress. It's amazing how far we need to go over-the-top in writing something in order for people to not confuse it with being serious on this board. But it still didn't work---I'm still pissed.

Now can we end this thread and take him off?

I think the Aaron Lynch thing may encourage us to keep this one open until NSD....what do you think. Where is NDFANSOUTHWEST... we need him to say this saga is far from over....man that guy called the Lynch thing right off the bat.

RKG = "Right Kinda Guy," a term Kelly used when he first arrived at Notre Dame. Means a guy that wants to be at ND, will work to excel in his system, and has the phyisical / mental toughness needed to win consistently.

Tuitt is a huge loss. He's a double-team threat. He's a run stopper. Luckily we have some backfill for that role. He was a premier talent in an area of great need. There's no minimizing that. However, we will be more than okay. This recruiting class is absurd.

Troy Niklas just became a top target.

Come on man....really? He is one of the best we had... sucks to lose him, but no more sour grapes guys... it makes us look like...well, like the fans other teams make fun of.

I think that Irish Man3 was being sarcastic. Or at least I hope he was. He was throwing out all the responses that posters usually end up saying when someone flips.

I wish there was a sarcasm smiley or something.

I'm a little down, but it was to be expected once he actually visited Gtech for the 7th time or so. Tuitt is a respectful young man so of course he said all the right things(95 percent Irish, would have to be blown away to flip,etc)..but it was clear that he was on the fence. I can't really recall ND keeping a player who visited another school in January outside of Hendrix and Raeshon Mcneil.

This facebook nonsense is just out of hand. And if anyone thinks we "don't need" a player of Tuitt's caliber they are dumber than a rock. Let's just hope Kona keeps developing and Lynch can be an immediate impact player. EJ/Lynch + KLM/Kona in 2011 sure isn't bad... and Lynch/?? + KLM/Kona is solid for 2012... in 2013 you get Lynch/?? + Kona/?? so depending on who steps up on the team it seems we will again be looking to land a stud DE or two in the next recruiting cycle.

Of all the defensive players in my opinion I felt he was the least likely to jump ship. Especially since he's been to tech a hundred times, I mean, what more could they show him that hasn't already seen?

I had a feeling he wasn't looking good.

Oh well. Lets get another DE next year.

We already have Lynch this year. And some of the other "non super star recruits" this year may step up.

oh god, here we go again, another two weeks of weighing the pros and cons of facebook contact. lesson learned, the kid accepted everyone's friendship when they were blowing smoke up his @ss, a little guff wont kill him.

disclaimer: i DO NOT contact kids on FB!!! that said, the kid will survive, and maybe even learn a little something. specialy if he becomes a draft prospect: not everybody loves you because they have genuine care for you. there are people that will love you conditionaly because you play football and eventually they can make a buck off you!
