Any latest word on this kid? I know it would be a major upset at this point for ND to pull down this committment, but I think it works to our benefit that he seems to be waiting until National Signing Day. With Carlisle (sp?) going to USC, Kelly can make one last push for Huggins.

A lot of things can change in the final few weeks. However, RB seems to be one position where we have decent depth (Wood, Gray, Robinson, McDaniel, even Riddick) so it wouldn't be the end of the world if we fail to get him. Locking down those big bodies on Defense was a huge priority and Kelly did an amazing job there...

Couldn't agree with you more! Defense was our goal and we have an amazing class on that side of the ball.

Anyone hear anything about Shuler coming for a visit and possibly bringing Huggins along?

I have a gut wrenching feeling that Kelly pulls Shuler and Huggins to Notre Dame. Would be something special if he were able to pull that move off.

I would likely cry if that scenario played out. Some serious tears of joy.

Shuler is not coming to ND. In fact, several of the recruiting gurus believe that the Shuler's might have just been using ND as publicity during the recruiting process.

IMO, Shuler being at Rutgers won't sway Huggins one way or another. From his comments on Shuler in the past, it seems that Huggins just obliges him with the "tag team" talk. Huggins will make his own choice, most likely to where he believes he can get the most immediate and substantial playing time.

According to B&G, he really enjoyed his MSU visit.

Headliner from B&G:
Under Armour All-American Savon Huggins would be joining a crowded Spartans backfield but the chance to play early would still be an option for the New Jersey star.

Yo, B&G!

He's got a chance to play early wherever he goes!

Well UNC does have a beautiful campus, decent weather, hot girls and he has a lot of family down there...
UNC's campus pales compared to a lot of college campuses. I don't like the sprawl to their football stadium either, even though it's like that to offer views of the pine trees. To each their own, I guess...

Sounds good. An outside chance is still a chance. Niklas and Huggins seem to be the last real prospects on our board.

there is a good article on ISD on recruiting which says the only difference between us and the Longhorns who have the #1 recruting class is an elite RB in this years class....could he pull the upset???? would love it!!!

The article also mentioned that we had a certain DE named Tuitt in the class. That loss may change the ranking a bit. Back to Savon, I would love to have him added to what we have enrolled and verbally committed.
