A one star?

He hasn't been evaluated. Apparently Scout gives one star when you get entered in their database. Perhaps a PC thing.

I know we have a lot of offers... but.... wow.

Yes, we do but he isn't one of them. Where do you see him listed with an ND offer? Polish Irishman didn't put it in the title of the thread. And I didn't list it in the information I added.

He's got 20 offers including some good programs and he's looking for an ND offer.

Yeah, but none from the O$U even though he's from Ohio.

In a normal year he would have already have an offer from OSU.
They are only giving 17 out this year with ONLY 1 WR.

He may still get one from OSU, but with only 1, it ain't likely.

What's the likelihood of an ND offer?

I really think that Swigert's going to be on the back burner for a while. If we miss on Jones of the Big Mc from Kansas, I'm sure we will pull the trigger.

At some point, it is very likely.
The issue will be timing.

As Wabash mentioned, if ND misses on a kid or maybe it is really 2 kids, then they would offer. That is about right.

As WR or DB?

The outlook at both positions improved for Swigert last night. DB Kacy Rodgers committed to Miami and WR/LB Justin McCay eliminated ND (see his profile for details).

All of those Favorites have Offered.

Rivals recently upgraded him to

, and ranked him as the #72 WR.

I saw mention on OhioVarsity.com that he will play QB in '09. That will add to his rep as a ATHLETE but isn't going to help him climb the WR Rankings.

Do you have GPA and Test Score numbers for Swigert?

I like your boy Swigert basselope. I know he is an ND guy, but the problem for him is the numbers. If we didn't already have Toma and Jackson in the fold, you know he'd have an offer and we'd probably have a commit in the future. If he never gets his offer, I wish the kid well at another top school...

Do you have "inside info"? If so, give names please. If not, give links please.

Yes

GPA = 3.98

Test Scores?
Do you mean ACT or Bench, Shuttle etc???

ACT and/or SAT.

Most fans don't care about a kid's academic credentials but if a recruit can't pass ND Admissions he won't be getting an ND Scholarship. I track GPAs and Test Scores as well as Strength and Combine numbers.

NDinLA,

Thanks. I know it is a matter of numbers.
ND continues to stay in touch, so who knows what the future holds....
& yes timing is everything.

6 months or even 2 months ago he would have been a lock to commit if they offered.
Not so anymore.

He has seen a number of schools this summer and really likes a couple of them.
IF ND offers before he commits elsewhere they would be on his short list...
...but not the slam dunk they once were.

IrishinFL,

Are you asking me the "inside info" question?
I am his uncle.

BGIF,

ACT = 23 & yes he is taking it over again in Sept.

Have a nice day guys :)

basselope,

Thanks for the info. I updated his profile. Do you have strength numbers (Bench and Squat) as well?

Is the OhioVarsity report correct that he will play QB this season?

Between the 58 catches last year, and a couple of INT TD returns, a pair of KO TD returns, and a pair of Punt TD returns sounds like he does everything for his HS except collect tickets.

I doubt fans understand his capabilities when they look at just a #72 WR ranking.

He looks pretty impressive on film but the Staff seems to be going after some bigger fish with 2 WR already committed.

Jason,

I believe you are absolutely spot on.
ND is waiting on 2 big fish to decide.
Don't think it will matter thou.......

BGIF,

Yes QB this year.

I can get his stength numbers.
I will check with Coach & let you know what they are.
BTW, he also punts.
We are working on having him collect 50/50 tickets at the gate. :).

As for what he else he does that would interest ND fans, he is a BIG TIME Baseball recruit.
He is a 5 tool player that may get drafted right out of High school.

Regardless of the BB draft, He WILL play FB at a university and get his college degree.
He knows that is very tough to do and has not decided one way or the other if he will play both,
but will probably end up as a dual sport athlete.

If ND wants a SS / CF / WR combination this is the kid.

Thanks for the update.

I believe Golden Tate is doing the CF/WR combination quite well. He'd be in his last year when Bobby is a freshman.

With McCay and Prater appearing to be heading elsewhere is it time for Bobby to get an offer?
