It would be interesting to have a player with the name Pagan play for a Catholic university.

LMAO! I was thinking the same thing when I was making his profile. The kid fits what Kelly calls "profile." He's tall and has a long reach and very athletic. He doesn't have an offer yet, but I think it will be coming sooner than later. Three big-time programs offered this week and Pagan has already started to form a list of places he would like to visit during the spring. Notre Dame is on that short list.

Picked up offers from ND and USC. Wants to know more about his fit in ND's 3-4 D.

The 6-4, 270-pound superstar Jeoffrey Pagan from Asheville (NC) is now part of the Gator Nation. Touring the Southeast with coach, friend and more importantly mentor Mike Zboyovski, the Pagan crew visited North Carolina State, North Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Alabama and now the Gators.

We are outside his most recent top 5 according to ESPN. Looks to be staying in the southeast.

From the same city as Councell...If we can lockup Councell this weekend maybe Ben can get in Pagan's ear and convince him to atleast take a visit.

Pagan was interviewed monday afternoon on florida's rivals website GatorBait.net. He says and I quote "Clemson, Alabama, LSU, Oregon, USC and maybe Ohio State," Pagan said.

"Everyone's in the game now," Pagan said. "I'm going to keep it a secret and decide on signing day."

Clemson defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks visited Asheville on Monday on the second day of the open period for college coaches to be on the road.

"He was telling me everything is still on with them," Pagan said. "I'm good and I still have an offer with them. He told me how I fit into their program. I'm going to take an official visit there on January 15th. That's the only official visit I have set up now."

The 6-foot-4, 272-pounder lives less than two hours from Tiger Town.

"Actually I've liked Clemson since early in my recruitment," Pagan said. "I started liking them early in the process and still like them a lot. I talked to coach (Dabo) Swinney today, too, and they want me there a lot."

Sounds like Clemson to me.

Clemson is starting to remind me of Baylor in basketball. What could their recruiting pitch for these kids possibly be other than a brown bag full of money?

My brother follows ACC football like a fanatic. Even he can't figure out how Clemson ends up with these starry recruiting classes every year. He assumes that part of it is that the recruits realize that they won't be overly burdened with attending class. Note in interest of full disclosure: my brother is a former teammate of Frank Beamer.

You're right, Clemson gets some players. If they had Beamer, lord help us.

They are in a perfect location. SEC country without the SEC schedule. How long before Dabo is gone? I give it one year.

I don't know. They've been hunting since Danny Ford left. They'll pony up some big bucks when he starts looking.

He did visit Ben Councell with Elston in Asheville. I am his Uncle. They are not recruiting Pagan. He cannot meet the academic requirements of ND

We're really excited about Ben. One of the most slept-on recruits in the country, IMO.
