Highly-coveted pass-catcher Kyle Prater (Hillside, Ill./Proviso West) informed ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com that he has made another cut amongst his list of suitors.

The 6-foot-6, 195-pound target is now only considering Notre Dame, Alabama, Oklahoma, Illinois, Tennessee and USC. Auburn, Missouri, Michigan and Miami-FL were eliminated from his list of 10.

Apparently Notre Dame wanted 3-4 receivers this year with the hopes off landing a wideout class like 08. Right now it appears the only elite receivers we have a shot at is Prater and McCay and we have ground to make up on both. Always liked McCay better myself and if we do get an elite receiver this year it will likely be McCay over Prater.

Bye bye Prater. Is going to announce Sept 2nd, and he just visited USC yesterday, so you do the math.

We lost McCay and Prater on the same damn day basically. Luckily most of receiver talent is very young, so we're good at this spot, and things can definitely change, esp when receivers see Tate, Floyd co tear it up this year, but we can't have 2 bad classes in a row. In this past year we only got Shaq and Toma, so next year will be crucial for WR's if everything stays the same...

Chill that smith kid from South Bend is pretty good and jackson from NJ is very fast. It was unlikely for us to get either of them beecause they want to start when they come thru the door and its not going to happen here

I lost hope for Prater a long time ago but the McCay news sucks something fierce. Maybe Swigert gets another look? I agree Danny Smith can be a gem in a few years. Not sold on Jackson yet, but hopefully he proves me wrong.
