Tuitt has not set a date for his GTech visit but said that he will visit. Also said that he loved his time at the AA game and spent a good a lot of time bonding with Hegarty, Atkinson, and Lynch.

There is a new article on Tuitt up on Rivals recapping his AAA experience and visit with the staff afterwards. Any insights?

Don't have any insight, however, I was reading over on Domer Domain and a poster who has posted here before said Tuitts been in Aaron Lynchs ear since they first arrived in San Antonio last week. I'm not worried about Tuitt visiting GT, whenever he makes the trip.

We also had some guy named Aaron Lynch recruiting for us and look how that turned out..

I am offering my membership dues for the Stephon Tuitt Fan Club. I can't believe how stand-up great this young man has been in every possible way. AND he seems to be Justin Tuck Mark Two. This fellow is going to be on a Wall-of-Fame somewhere before he's through.

This, unfortunately, is giving me the hunter/trattou vibe. i really hope we can hold off the sec this year. i'm sure the staff is swinging for the fences with this kid and hopefully we continue to do so till signing day.

I'm happy that we've got a shot a Lynch but Tuitt is the one DE that I want.

I have to agree. This feels like some of the other guys--Martin, Hunter, Trattou, Leuders.

I really like this kid, I like his ethics. He is being forethright in what he is doing. I commend him for that. The problem is our CB's are looking great, our Linebackers are looking great, our oline is looking great, RB, QB, WR, TE. But, but, but our DE is looking really scary right now. And scary in a bad way. And our DT we need some more to. I do love Nix, and I am a Stockton fan as well. And Cwyar (Spelling) played well.

But, we only have Kona and Heggie on the team righ now for 2012 at DE. I love Kona!!! But, we need some help. Now we can by the grace of God get Ishaq, Tuitt, and Lynch and the debate is over we are set. But, Shembo maybe need to be set at DE, or a couple others. Right now I am very nervous. Tuitt holds a lot of our future on the DE side in his hands. He can be a difference maker and set to take over the D when Manti goes to the NFL.

Had to say I am nervous, I hope Tuitt stays Irish.

Go Irish!

I disagree with some of this. Our RBs and OL does NOT look great (yet). Thank goodness we picked up Nick Martin because we are still short on numbers. Especially if we lose Tuitt, Carrico and Springmann will not be able to convert to help if needed. The staff did not feel we needed a DT in this class at all and to prove it, never offered one.

In 2012 besides Schwenke and Heggie KLM and Hafis Williams will have 5th years available (that is unless Carrico and Springmann decommit too). If we were going to convert guys down to DE, my feeling would to leave Shembo right where he is and perhaps use Utupo or Rabasa.

We have to give Tuitt the benefit of the doubt and I posted this wondering if this was just late reported news. We all knew he was taking a visit to GT, just the plural use of visits made me wonder about somone else. He did give a quote at the AAA game he was not feeling LSU....

The other thing is, if you read the article TT linked last night, the "bagman" theory scares the crap out of me. After a great showing at the AAAB, it would not surprise me is shady SEC/ACC boosters start coming out of the woodwork trying to buy his services. Only time will tell and I don't think Tuitt (based on the limited amount I've heard about him) is the kind of guy to to be persuaded by bull****.

I guess the good news is we should have a really good feeling where we stand at DE after this week with Lynch, Scarlett, and Ishaq all expected to make their decisions. atleast 1 out of those 3 and holding on to Tuitt and I would be satisfied, even though it has been said Ishaq and Scarlett are being recruited as LBs. Now if I had to pick one of those three I would take Lynch, but it would be hard to be upset if we land any of those and would allow us flexibility to use Springmann and Carrico on offense if they choose to do so.

Georgia Tech has at least one more shot at Stephon Tuitt. You can bet the Yellow Jackets are going to make it a good one.

Tuitt, a 4-star defensive end from Monroe, has been committed to Notre Dame since last September. But he has agreed to take an official visit to Tech on Jan. 21. He said it’s the only official visit he’ll take between now and national signing day on Feb. 2.

“When I go, I’m going to go there with an open mind,” said Tuitt, a senior at Monroe Area High School. “I’m going to act like it’s the first time I’ve been there. I’m going to forget past history between me and the coaches and try to see if it’s a place I could see myself playing the next four or five years.”At one time it seemed a foregone conclusion that Tuitt would end up with the Yellow Jackets. They had the 6-foot-5, 260-pound athlete on campus at least a half-dozen times in 2010 and his mother spoke openly about how much she liked Tech’s academic opportunities.

But about the time Tuitt seemed close pulling the trigger for the Jackets, he decided to accept an invitation from the Fighting Irish for an official visit to South Bend with his mother the weekend of Sept. 10th. In two words, they were “blown away” and he committed to Notre Dame the following Wednesday.

Tuitt has also taken an official visit to Auburn and has also considered Miami, where he’s from originally. But the good news for Tech is now there is virtually no time for others to get involved.

Tuitt is playing a basketball game this weekend, has the Tech visit the next weekend, then is participating in the The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Team USA vs. The World Game Jan. 28-Feb. 2 in Austin, Texas.

“Right now I’ve kind of stopping everything,” Tuitt said of his recruitment. “I’m going to take one to Tech, but right now that’s the only one.”

Some thought Tuitt may head to The Flats this weekend with his teammate, quarterback Demontevious “Demon” Smith, who just recently attracted recruiting attention from the Jackets. But Tuitt wants to play basketball and wants to Smith to assess Georgia Tech independently.

“I want Demon to go down there and take in the whole experience himself,” Tuitt said.

Meanwhile, Tuitt certainly did nothing to de-value his recruiting stock while participating in the U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio last weekend. One of six Georgians invited to play in the prestigious national all-star game, Tuitt registered four tackles, a sack and a tackle for loss in the game, won by his East squad 13-10.

“It was a great experience,” Tuitt said. “I had a good time with the players and got to compete with some of the best college football prospects in the nation. I think I did pretty well. I felt I could have done a couple of things better. I feel like I have potential I haven’t shown yet. But I felt like I held my own.”

There's always a level of concern when a commit is taking a visit to another program, but the Yellow Jackets will need to hit this one out of the park to sway Tuitt. "If I was going to go somewhere else it has to be a school that knocks me off my feet more than Notre Dame did when I visited there."

He is much better friends with junior DE Kenderius Whitehead, whom ND is showing a lot of interest in. Tuitt has talked up ND to him and the possibility of playing together again at ND. Take it FWIW.

The real impact should be when The Beast decides to come back home.

I can't imagine Stephon not wanting to be a part of this new crew.

Well we will know where we stand with Tuitt and Lynch by Subnday night, the earliest. Let them both finish their visits and just see what the result is

If Lynch commits...Tuitt isn't going ANYWHERE.I think Ishaq's decision may be influenced by Lynch as well.

I understand that Kids like to stay home and play. But when i was playing sports i wanted to win and i don't think that GT is that place. They will finish at best third in the acc this year behind VT and Florida State. And Maybe beind MD. Not trying to bash him at all i just don't unstand that. But i guess we might know something today with Lynch at South Bend.
