He wants to talk to FSU coaches before anything is breaking news.

His mother obviously doesn't have those concerns.

He's at practice right now, so I don't think he wants to deal with this drama at the moment.

I hope you are right Terry.

I will go with Aaron Lynch as of right now because he is the one who chose to decommit from us and not his Mom.

Right he wants to handle this with class and the correct way this time...If so he had matured

To me, I read that as "I'm committed until I've talked to everyone and taken my time." He is not going to decommit unless he is sure he wants to go somewhere else. He is also not going to make the mistake he made with ND and decommit via text message without talking with the staffs first.

Jimbo might smooth things over, but if he takes his official to ND as was reported earlier I really like our chances. Except that it is supposed to be cold and snowy that whole week lol. Too bad he didn't want to take an official when it was 55 a couple weeks ago.

I was shocked to see this news when logging into IE. I hope Aaron makes his college choice on his own. It won't be his mom playing on the field it will be him. Wherever he decides to go for his college career he will be a beast. Time for Kelly, Alford, and co. to secure Aaron back home.

I cannot say either way on the decommit rumor. I do not know if that is true.

The ND visit may happen. My sources tell me that it is not finalized, but its in the works.

Im working on gathering more info at this time.

11:50 Update:

As of now I can confirm he has not informed the FSU staff that he plans to decommit.

---

12:35 Update

It has been confirmed that Lynch's paperwork has been submitted at Florida State, he has been admitted to school, and cleared by the Clearing House.

He has received a Pell Grant, but we do not know if this binding at this time to where he can or can't switch.

These are just the latest details, working on more.

---

1:24 Update

I can confirm, none of the info above would bind him to FSU. He must attend class.

-----

2:15pm

I'm told by an excellent source that Aaron Lynch has been told a few un-true rumors.

It started 3 or 4 days ago with the word that Jimbo would be leaving to take the LSU job.

Lynch and his mom have been told that his High School coach has been paid in order to get Lynch to FSU. That is 100% false.

Another fact that I can confirm is that Lynch was a borderline qualifier. He is NCAA qualified, but he even had to go in front of the review board at FSU. Not sure how Notre Dame could get him in if he's borderline at Florida State.

On the other hand, Aaron has been influenced by people who really do not have his best interest in mind (FSU coaches who advised him to dumb down his high school course load in order that he no longer qualifies for an EE at Notre Dame, his coach who badmouthed Notre Dame probably hoping to advance his own career, homesick Fla. buddy Jordan Prestwood who realized that ND was better educationally, but couldn't see himself surviving cold Indiana winters so far from his family) now stack that up against his mother. Whose advise is focused on what is good for Aaron?

And don't kid yourself, Aaron showed up in San Antonio flashing the Notre Dame colors. Then he interacted and dominated with Tuitt and Williams all week. You have to know the three of them have touched on the issue of Notre Dame's defensive resurgence and how those three could help turn a resurgence into a Renaissance.

Aaron might have realized what a bunch of crap he has been fed by other schools and started to realize that Alford and Kelly haven't played those mind games with him.

There is an awful lot going on here and it looks very good for Notre Dame. I personally don't believe FSU is the leader anymore. If Aaron can handle the cold when he comes up...he is Irish.

If this is true Jim-Bob will smooth talk him and he will stay at F$U.
*Disclaimer: I do not think it is really true, just saying if it is I don't think we get him.

I don't know about that. Aaron wore the ND shirt four days ago on the way to practice. We're hearing now he is cleared for EE at ND, and I had thought the problem before was academics. Another thing to remember is that when he de-committed the team was re-defining the word bad. We closed very strong, the defense looked amazing late in the season - obviously a lot has changed.

I don't think his mother's preference has changed, and now he and Tuitt are getting all these rave reviews playing together. I find it hard to believe the Jimbo will be the only person he speaks to tonight - I imagine Alford will be all over him too, and hopefully Tuitt as well. If Tuitt is actively recruiting for us there, he could be a huge assistance, and seeing Ishaq commit tomorrow would undoubtedly help us.

We just need to keep our fingers crossed that he visits on Friday, and then pray he shows up to a class on Monday morning.

Also Rivals has changed him to a soft verbal with a few articles that I don't have access too.

6. STEPHON TUITT, DE, 6-5, 260, GA, NOTRE DAME: Lynch and Williams used speed to dominate on the edge while Tuitt used sheer power. The Monroe native showed an impressive first step during the week of practice, which combined with his tremendous length, size, and power makes him a scary matchup for any offensive lineman. Tuitt also showed improvements in some areas of previous concern, such as consistency off the ball and playing with good leverage. This improved leverage allowed Tuitt to blow up the run game from his right end position. Tuitt was not all about blowing up the run, he also made a huge impact in the pass game by using his power to drive linemen back into the quarterback. What surprised me was how effectively he was able to attack the edge with his good first step and speed against the pass. Tuitt’s power moves sent the East quarterbacks into the waiting arms of Aaron Lynch on several occasions. Tuitt showed he is one of the nation’s best defensive linemen.

This write up on Tuitt was interesting with how he and Lynch complimented each other in practice.

I am so confused with all this he said, she said...I think Aaron doesn't know what he wants for himself. Aaron, follow your heart, this is your dream.

I was going to buy a Rivals membership now to read those articles and follow the end of recruiting, but it claims my credit card is invalid. Apparently Rivals hates Canada or something.

Ok basic summary of the Rivals lead main article. First, Lynch is very confuser right now. Second, he see's all the depth at FSU and see's he could get immediate playing time next season and likes the idea of playing with Tuitt. Third, He plans on EE where ever he ends up so that might cause a problem for FSU, and he will likely de-commit from FSU. Finally, he talked to Alford this morning and will again this afternoon, and loves how ND has continued to recruit him. At one point said he wants to take his ND visit at just go to get the process over with.

Ok,this is just my opinion about his academic standing. I think it's clear he is a borderline guy at ND, but I believe Kelly is getting a few guys in on exceptions academically. Maybe one or two a year (Daniels and Lynch} would be this years exceptions I'm guessing. No real proof of that just a hunch.

I have no problem with letting in a few guys on exceptions. Look at what other schools do, a few years ago Dennis Dixon was a heisman candidate at Oregon and was taking one class - Billiards. Not everyone needs to be Chris Stewart for crying out loud.

If he comes to ND for the visit I say it's a done deal. But getting him on campus might be hard.

I have no real basis but I think Lynch is a pretty smart kid, just hasn't focused on school so much. Not the first kid to do that, I was a little guilty myself. I think he's smart enough to do what he has to do and early entry gives him time to get moved, get settled into classes and the routine of college.

Again I have no basis but he comes across as a pretty smart guy.

Will the pain ever stop?
haha
I'm not gonna let my hopes get brought up.
But he sure would be a killer way to end the recruiting process.

I hope he re commits to the Irish! I would love to have this kid back and was very sad when he left the 1st time.

With ND, they will get him the tudors or whatever he needs to succeed in the classroom so he can dominate on the field.

Good luck Aaron!

That said, I can't imagine what is going through the Lynch's brains right now. Mine is fried, and I'm not even the one making the call!

Here's how I see it..

Notre Dame > Florida State, in basically everything except the women and weather. Not a hard call. :D

With all the new information being reveiled and developing as we speak, its important to point out how much Aaron has learned from prior mistakes. If he is going to decommit from FSU, I like that he is going through the proper steps and talking it over with both coaching staffs. Shows that the kid is growing and learning from his mistakes. Let's be patient and see how this pans out. I think the majority of Irish fans, level headed ones anyway, would love to see Aaron in an Irish uniform with Ishaq and Tuitt by his side. Let's be patient and mature about this situation.

I'm sure when a kid moves away from the only influences, some negative, that he has known, his academics may improve. We all know as high school students sometimes academics aren't the first priority. Get him around some student athletes with good academic practices and you may be pleasantly surprised.
