Mike once again we're in total agreement on this, it amazes me how easily people pass judgment and suddenly become professional character assessors from the comfort of their computers, never having any more contact with the people that they are judging than a couple of tweets or facebook post! This young fellow seems like he's still a bit immature, but that's hardly a reason to suspect that his personality development is going to stagnate where it is today. Do any of us really believe that years of exposure to the Notre Dame environment will not have a tremendous maturation effect on the young man and his values?? If the guy can play line, on one side of the ball or the other [doesn't matter now with our versatility], and if the staff has a judgement that he is alright as a new recruit and they can deal with his development, where the heck do we on this board get off making very strong statements about him being some kind of loser??
I don't know this fellow, and nothing I've read here indicates to me that anyone else writing knows him either. Man, thank God none of us are appointed to sit-in-judgement on many things in this world. Let Kelly handle the character analysis. I'll bet he doesn't do a lot of character assassination even in the privacy of his office [not about kids anyway].

So we should judge the character of every 18 year old by some of the stupid things they might say or do? Whether it's a "tweet" or facebook post I don't think anyone of us is in a position or have the right to judge anyone without knowing them. Especially a 18 year old, hell I did and said some really stupid things at that age and does that mean that I was a person of bad character or was not a good person? All that we're saying is that you can't tell what the person is like by excerpts from their life. I know this is such a grey area and everyone has their opinions....and is entitled to themit amazes me how easily people assend to the pulpit to preach about the high ground refusing to accept that this is the world we live in. students get suspended from school, suspended from games, kicked off teams, and worse adults get fired from their jobs for things they post on their facebook page or "tweet". alot of people judge the communication that is social networked beyond just us poor dumb immature message board readers....
right or wrong it is what it is.

Not directed at you but a person has got to be pretty ignorant to rightfully think they can judge another's character when they don't even know them.right or wrong people(and kids) ARE judged by those things and will continue to be judged by those things and nothing you can do will change that.
no offense man...
I agree he definitely don't think the kid makes great decisions, but I know some kids that I played with growing up that didn't either and if they didn't end up playing college ball they probably would've kept on making poor decesions. One in particular was a really good kid he just was around the wrong people. I trust Kelly to be able to tell what type of kid he really is.I have been reading this thread for a while...I for one don't like when a kid calls a school Notre Lame...and wishes for someone to die....is that not an indication of ones character? Or would it be better I say its in bad taste...
He maybe he is still "hurt" we did not offer him right away...either way there is a thing called respect and it "appears" that he does not have any for a school that has offered him a quality education in return for playing a game!
