No one has any inside info.

Ishaq and his family have consistently stated that Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Penn State, are all still in it. They like all three schools.

Penn State was assumed to be out of it because they are generally doing a terrible job in recruiting right now and so college football fans assume that means that they can't possibly land a stud like Ishaq. However, the family has stated that Penn State has been in it for such a long time that they don't need a late push to get serious consideration.

People then assume that Notre Dame is the winner because Syracuse is not a great program, or that Syracuse is the winner because its the family's school so they are pressuring him to go their (which they are not).

Long story short, based on his statements, he is clearly very impressed with ND (once again, he almost committed), but he is open to all three.

As for Williams, this is tougher to call. As of last week I heard from a good source that Penn State was fading and that this was down to Notre Dame and Syracuse with the edge to the Irish but 'Cuse in position to pull a stunner. However, I confirmed this week that Penn State is very much in the mix and that this is too close to call right now as Williams doesn't even know yet. There is an Ishaq Williams that shows up on the Penn State college student directory but I have been assured that it doesn't mean much as he and his family completed the enrollment process at all three of the schools he is choosing between. Best guess right now is still Notre Dame, but it's a guess. He will announce at the U.S. Army All American Bowl.

Wasn't sure if this had been posted yet but this is the latest from Rivals recruiting analyst Mike Farrell.

Really hope we get this kid. He is the MUST get in my opinion and if we only take one more kid in this class I would pray it will be this kid. He is an outstansing young man and football player.

Lets not forget about Rabasa and Counsell are in coming freshman to go along with what we already have there. I dont expect any of these freshman to come in and have a dramatic impact but we are thin at OLB. It should be fun to watch how these young men progress through the summer. Ishaq is the only EE of the in coming freshman I believe so he may have a slight advantage.

The only one I expect may "redshirt" is Counsell. Just about everyone has said he needs lower body strength badly, but he could contribute on special teams.

Have you seen him (Counsell) play? How about Rasaba?

I have seen Counsell play in the Shrine Bowl and Rabasa had a nationally televised game on ESPNU against Teddy Bridgewater's highschool team.

Counsell looks to be very quick and very football smart. He is very good in coverage and has a knack for where the football is going and filling that gap.

Rabasa is one of my favorite players in this class and underrated in my mind. He has the speed to get around the corner but the power to bull rush.

Cuse is driving. We need for them to get destroyed and then a solid ND win!

You're kidding, right? KSU is a terrible team and unless 'Cuse were to blow them out by 28+ points it really doesn't matter at all who wins. Remember, KSU struggled to beat 3-9 North Texas to close out the season and only has one win against a team with a winning record (UCF).

I was going to say something along these lines. Less about the teams playing though, and more about the fact that I really really really doubt anyone will make a decision about where to go to college based on the outcome of two mid-level bowl games. The only exception I would make to this rule of thumb would be if one team won big and one team got blown out. A close, exciting, game broadcast on national TV will be a plus in the mind of any recruit, regardless of outcome.

1st bowl win since 2001. I think that's def a plus. It's still in the little leagues to me though. I can't see Cuse winning championships anytime soon

Do you really think that who wins what bowl game today or tomorrow makes a bit of difference in Ishaq Williams decision-making process?

(After watching how methodical he has been to date?)

Not ONE bit! If so, he's really misguided (which I don't think is the case)!

I have been following recruiting very closely for seven, maybe eight years now... and with all I have seen over those years I have found one thing most people laugh off that is absolute fact it is this...

that is these are 18 year old kids and for whatever other reason... YES!!!! Any one game can flip these kids on a dime... if we win more games over the past few years we land a lot (A LOT) of these kids we lost out on... and yes, this bowl game tomorrow may very well be the deciding factor for a number of players still considering us one way or the other...

believe it. we lose bad tomorrow and you can cross some guys right off... win big, hell we may add some guys we never even thought were in play, even with our short numbers.
