On the Walls/Baldwin thing: Darrin said in his interview that the biggest challenge in defending Baldwin was his size in getting the ball high. I noticed he didn't seem worried about his speed or "trickiness". Asked how they were going to defend the problem, Darrin said "there are techniques". Asked what they were: he laughed and said, "you'll see them on the field Saturday". Walls is ready.

Just touched down in SB at 8:30 this morning, and fellas, it is absolutely gorgeous down here. Unbelievable weather. The 75 degrees and sunny I'm used to in SoCal, but the fresh air and all the colors of fall...wow. I've been to South Bend at least 10 times, but this is the best weather I've seen here, especially for a football game.

I would get a beer with you, but I have no idea where we'll be. My wife has family here, and we just search for one of their tailgates. We might hit up the ISD tailgate as well. If I find something more definitive I'll post...

Irish Lacrosse tailgate is fully catered and all you can drink... but it's also $25 a head for anyone who is interested. Should be pretty awesome. See you all there.

Could not be more excited for this game. Has huge implications on recruiting and our overall season. If we win this, 8-4 should be our worst case scenario. It could continue our roll into the lighter part of our schedule before our matchup with Utah. For recruiting, Savon Huggins and Ishaq will have a lot of interest in this game among others. The visiting list seems to be pretty impressive for this game. Overall, on the field and off the field, this game is HUGE!!

I'm always realistic one way or the other... Pitt's two loses are to two good teams... and we have a horrid recent history of crumbling in games that could turn the season in our favor...


I do not feel good about this game... but if we can find a way... year one should be a success (if you define success by doing better than the last three years)
