Need to be able to run the ball to slow down the blitz. Also, it’ll be a good test for CJ to diagnose who’s coming on the blitz. As a Vikings fan I know the heavy blitzing D can give up big plays!!

After watching them a little vs TCU and last night I’ve seen enough. They seem slow and not athletic at all. Am I crazy that this should be a butt kicking? If our defense plays like it should I’m seeing 42-10 with a late TD to get 10 on the second string.

I think BYU will play off NDs aggressiveness. They know ND expects QB run and ND loves to run downhill which could set up easy outlets or spring a deep one.

BYU is better, especially on defense, but they're slow and not fast or athletic. Their offense is also not great. They are good, well coached, disciplined team and they will be hyped. It will be tough for a quarter or so, but we can match their physicality, but we also have much better athleticism and team speed. This will be like 2017-21 ND teams going up against the upper echelon, a tough battle but lack of explosive playmakers and speed and depth will show by the end of the game.

This. Marcus loves bulletin board material. For the last year people have had this silly idea we were too chicken to play BYU, and BYU has played into that. This game and Miami are the two where we have something to prove, and I think we win by 3 TDs. BYU's offense isn't that good, their defense may be decent but they haven't faced anyone like us and were crushed by a Texas Tech team that wasn't very good on offense either. I do expect them to give us their best shot for a few quarters, but our depth allows us to pull away 2nd half per usual.
