I'm sorry, but the "smart play" stuff in soccer is sometimes just weasely garbage. That little punk jumping in front of a kick the French player didn't see him coming is garbage. I'm sorry, maybe it's "gamesmenship" in soccer world, but it's a manipulative little bitch move in my book.

These are the things that remind Americans why we can't get 100% into soccer.

There is far more flopping in the NBA these days and Americans are largely watching that at higher rates than any other time since Michael Jordan was a Bull.

Watch a NFL WR on a pass he doesn't catch. That penalty in the box is equivalent to pass interference in the end zone.

First and Goal at the 1 is a far better probability than a PK.

Whats the difference in probability? I thought the likelihood of scoring a TD/making PK are fairly similar.

I think 1st and goal from the 1 is north of 80% and a PK is about 65%

Flopping isn't the same as running up from behind someone so they accidently kick you and you get a free goal. Its the equivalent of a punter running into a defender on purpose that isn't even looking in their direction and automatically gets the ball spotted on the 1 foot line.
