What Really Grinds Your Gears?

2nd biggest idiot on this site!
People that sit at a roundabout until the whole thing is clear of cars. I got behind one and to top it off, they were driving 10mph under the speed limit with a little dog sitting on their lap.
Lmfao. Roundabouts are my cryptonyte. What REALLY pisses me off is the person that stops at a roundabout when there is absolutely NO traffic. Or the person that stops at a yield sign. Fuck them

I don't mind them. It's the idiots that treat them like a four way stop.
Exactly. When other drivers know how to approach and proceed it's way better than a 4 way.

It only takes one moron for the entire system to come crumbling down. Damn near t- boned a soccer mom yesterday.

Or when there are two lanes but there are 10 cars in one lane and zero in the other… I floor it and hit the other lane showing them idiots how it’s done lol.

The highway near me has been under construction for 3 summers in a row now. I'm in canada and I go to the reserve to get cheap gas. The turnoff is now closed and there wasn't a sign before hand, so I had to drive an extra 30 mins before I could turn around, go back another 40 mins, and then double back through side roads. I've never yelled so many expletives in my life. And of course I'm dog sitting for my sister, and she tore up some toilet paper in disapproval while I was gone (the dog, not my sister).

The trend in modern entertainment to make a period piece and put modern rock music over it,… absolute instant channel changer for me. If you’re going to do an era piece keep it in that era

People are still talking on speaker phone in public. Headphones cost $20.
Got a guy in the office that does that. Does it so he looks busy cause he claims hes swamped with work....but never turns anything in. I'd like to take that phone and shove it down his throat and see if speaker phone still works

Roundabouts were supposed to be safer because people didn't know the proper way to handle 4 way stops. Of course, people don't know the proper way to proceed with roundabouts so cities spend all this money and time solving an old problem by creating a new version of the problem (I.e. people don't know how to drive).

I've got an employee like this. People are turning things in left and right but he loves to say he's "swamped" while stretching out the same 3-4 things he's had since the start of the year.

I was leaving South Bend this past weekend and as I'm approaching the roundabout, a lady actually stopped her car in the middle of the roundabout to see if I was going to go....I was idling to a stop as I approached it lol

Our 16 month old Beagle loves that stuff. The time he came trotting out with it in his mouth and a trail going all the way back to the paper holder had me laughing. I don't know what it is they like, but we've had to start shutting the bathroom door.

Painting brick.

I won’t go as far as saying it always looks terrible. There are definitely houses that look better after the brick is painted…for now. But this current obsession with painting every brick house is ridiculous. It strips away a lot of the character of the home while adding more upkeep, more maintenance, and more cost long term.

And yes, my wife is obsessed with painting the brick on our house, and it’s grinding what little I have left on my gears.

Do not paint exterior brick (or seal it). It is porous and naturally allows moisture to pass through it. If you paint or seal it, you risk trapping moisture in the wall cavity and causing problems. If you want to change the color, stain it instead. It soaks into the brick and doesn’t not seal the pores. It will also last a lot longer than paint and be less maintenance.

The house I wound up buying had painted brick. It was otherwise a great house, great land, etc. so it was hard for me to justify walking away over that small thing. That being said, not a week goes by that I don't think about the dipshit owner before me who painted it and curse them for it. I can even see what the house used to look like on google street view before it was painted and it makes me sick. Beautiful timeless dark red brick turned into something I have to maintain to keep it looking even half as nice.

Ever look into how much it would cost to remove the paint?? If it's the entire house I'm sure it would be a small fortune but just curious....
