I watched a weird movie last night: Bone Tomahawk. Great cast and acting, but just unusual as hell. I sort of thought it was going to turn into a black comedy sort of western, but it was more western rescue meets extra violent horror film. Critics generally praised it, it was a good story, there were some great moments and strong acting, but it was just weird in its underlying premise. Great watch, though.

A really cool but intense & off-beat Western. A quality film but a tough watch in parts.

Have been home recovering from surgery and have been watching movies like mad. Been watching stuff I normally would not watch and came across Nobody2. Having not seen Nobody the original I figured it would just pass 2 hours of time but after watching it, I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to watch the original.

I thought Odenkirk was phenomenal in it. Some of the plot was a little far fetched but I thought Odenkirk carried the movie. Solid watch.

Predator Badlands…. Also enjoyed.

So weird. I like weird but at times, it was like the writers got a bit too stoned and ran with things too far. I don't mind gore, I don't mind Pulp Fiction-level of oddity and accentuation but there is a fine line between artistic peculiarity and gratuitously offputting.

Bone Tomahawk was the latter for me but I'm still glad I watched it. Won't be a rewatch for me. Maybe the director is still experimenting and finding their style.

All of the S. Craig Zahler movies are awesome. Dragged Across Concrete and Brawl in Cell Block 99 are both BRUTAL, but insanely well done.

This is so odd that you mention Nobody. It starts as action/adventure, but eventually sort of morphs into a bit of an over-the-top spoof of the genre with some humor at the end. I actually thought of this movie when watching Bone Tomahawk last night and halfway expecting it to do the same (it doesn't). What a coincidence that you bring it up today! I haven't seen 2, but yeah, Odenkirk does a great job in the original and it's a fun watch.

Enjoy 2 brother. Half thinking of watching it again later on today.

I enjoyed it and thought a lot of it was great, but I just never quite had a handle on what it was - comedy, drama, horror, love story or what - until afterwards. Just an unusual western/horror movie, I guess. A very good watch, though. Just... different.

Awesome. It's on my watch list. Perhaps I shall watch it tonight or this weekend. 👍

It's long... almost 2 1/2 hours, but never boring. There's some serious gore and violence: a scalping, limbs cut off, and etc.. I haven't looked into the connections, but there are multiple actors from both Banshee and Fargo, so I'm guessing somebody in the production or cast brought in some friends from those two shows. Good watch and let me know what you think after you see it.

Prayers for a speedy recovery and yes Badlands was pretty good.

The last movie I checked out was Strangers 3 and it was pretty wild.

Has anybody noticed a recent trend in horror/scary movies that the seemed to have been about 75% thought out. I've seen so many that do a great job of building characters and suspense only to end in pure confusion and disappointment. Or they will suddenly turn 540° into a sci-fi.

We watched Cob Web on netflix last night. Had us locked in and then just ends abruptly with no climax at all. Total blue balls.

Thanks brother. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the heads up on Strangers 3. I heard it’s really good. Definitely in my list to watch while I do nothing… 😂

I wonder if anyone will ever make Blood Meridian into a movie.

Cult classic Sonnie Sarko. Great 80’s soundtrack and mind bending film. Hot Fuzz also great watch. Think the new Leo Sean Penn movie sucked balls.

For the horror movie aficionados out there……check out Together with Alison Brie and Dave Franco, definitely some “uncomfortable“ scenes in the movie. Another one that is disturbing but also very good is Bring Her Back. I’m a jaded horror fan since I’ve seen so many films, Being Her Back had some moments where I had to grit my teeth to get through them. Lastly, Companion was a surprisingly good film that had some nice twists.

Together was one of those 50/50 movies. it had alot of potential and provided a new lane in the genre which was better than the same ol same ol repetitive stuff. It still seemed like something was missing but it was solid. Bring Her Back definitely went all over the place as well, but it was a different perspective in the genre as well. Did you catch Primate yet?

Sydney Sweeney?
She doesn’t have a pretty face.
I think she is overrated.
