Someone proposed getting NDSU/USC together for week 0 and the Trojan fans immediately said NDSU isnt eligible for that lol

Oddly enough, there is about a 50% chance they are, as being conference mates with Hawaii in a round-robin schedule can mean one of two things.

Much of what made NDSU scary in the past currently isnt present anyway. The offensive line is down, the defense is down, and they will be breaking in a new QB next year. It's not like playing a clone of Iowa right now.

It's honestly sort of impressive. Dude won the high school Butkus Award and then spent an entire four-year college career at USC sidelined with foot and knee injuries before he appeared in a single game. Played some and then missed another whole year. He will be 26 next season. The guy must really love college football.

I've heard of career students, but career CFB players? Dude will be 35 by the time he gets drafted.

With this being a "job for pay", what really is there to stop a marginal-NFL player from continuing to make a living occupying a collegiate roster spot? Where's the "law" which opposes that? Isn't this just one big court case away? It seems to me that the only thing which could stop this (ultimately) is a consortium of all major football-playing colleges AT THE ADMINISTRATION (not whatever the NCAA is) LEVEL.

I must be wrong about this or I feel that cracks would exist as soon as the pay-for-play arrived in the open. Didn't that real cute gymnast from somewhere like LSU sue or threaten suit to stay on the payroll?

This is where adults need to step in and tell him "Sorry your career didn't work out. But its time to move on."
