hah one can dream... he wouldn't even take a very warranted shot at USCIf I were Freeman, I would start off by expressing how surprised I am to be invited to the national championship pregame show considering that ESPN didn't seem to want Notre Dame near the playoff.
Kill 'em with kindness. He's doing the Holtz "Golly, shucks, gee wiz" bit and it's perfect. Publicly, he's the nice Blasian guy from Ohio with six kids who preaches the Notre Dame gospel. Behind closed doors, he's Vecna twisting James Franklin and Pat Narduzzi into upside down pretzels. I like it this way.hah one can dream... he wouldn't even take a very warranted shot at USC
He’s better than all of us but we are bitter cynical fans…LOL. Taking the high road is the right tact to take but I also wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Saban or Galloway praise ND’s season w/o opening the can of worms about ND being left out. You know the entire panel will kiss his ass off air but that will never see the light of day. Too bad he can’t bring Shane Gillis with him.hah one can dream... he wouldn't even take a very warranted shot at USC
Yup. We can all imagine him going off but this is the proper way. Remember this time last year how many casual fans & even haters admitted how likeable ND is now? It’s all b/c of him. He lost some of that in post Dec 3rd but it was more of an ND thing overall and a reason for the haters to reflex back to “entitled ND!” “1988”, etc. Freeman being on the show likely gets more exposure via X than actual viewers.Kill 'em with kindness. I get it. But would have been cool to tear into USC, considering ND's not likely to play them again while MF is here.Kill 'em with kindness. Yep, free advertising for the program/university!!He always crushes it on camera at these things. As bitter as I am it’s a good move to be visible during the title game.
Not his job to do that, and we may very well play them again while he's here, and when they do you can bet he and his program will be highly motivated for that. It's not at all who he is, and I'm perfectly fine with that. His mentors are Lou Holtz and Jim Tressel, among others. He's shown that he's measured and will take the high road more often than not.I get it. But would have been cool to tear into USC, considering ND's not likely to play them again while MF is here.
ESPN's Coaches Panel for the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship typically involves a "Coaches Film Room" Megacast, featuring former coaches like Mike Gundy, Gene Chizik, Dave Clawson, and Steve Addazio
This is clearly ESPN’s perverted rectification for the playoff snub, and akin to “sorry, we have to let you go, but you can keep this stapler.”
He needs to be there though. Lots of kids will be watching and see a coach they want to play for.

I didn't realize Clawson had back to back 4-8 seasons at the end of his tenureInteresting that no current coaches are doing this anymore, its a box of broken toys now
After Hartman left.I didn't realize Clawson had back to back 4-8 seasons at the end of his tenure
Of those who have commented about how Freeman operates as a leader, you are one of the ones who actual gets it. Integrity and authenticity are absolutely critical to the foundations of how he's chosen to lead. Not his job to do that, and we may very well play them again while he's here, and when they do you can bet he and his program will be highly motivated for that. I take zero issue with how he projects himself. We live in a world of loud obnoxious trolling and sportsmanship is dying on the vine because of it. Let the play between the hashes do the talking. Remember this guy's background: US Military dad, Midwestern values, etc. When he talks about "Choose Hard" and "Delayed Gratification", those aren't just t-shirt slogans. I think this dude is sincere to his core when he talks about those kinds of things. When he says he'll be Kenny Minchey's biggest fan, he means it.
Behind closed doors, he's a killer, though. Look at how he's handled situations with James Franklin and Pat Narduzzi.
I dig that about him.
We aren't playing them before 2030, they suck. Not his job to do that, and we may very well play them again while he's here, and when they do you can bet he and his program will be highly motivated for that. "Blame me"Of those who have commented about how Freeman operates as a leader, you are one of the ones who actual gets it. Integrity and authenticity are absolutely critical to the foundations of how he's chosen to lead.
Would be absolutely hilarious for him to bring Gillis and let him be his pitbull he unleashes on everyone to say what we’re all thinkingHe’s better than all of us but we are bitter cynical fans…LOL. I can't watch it now, because I will be let down when he doesn't actually say this."Honestly, we would have beaten either of these teams. We looked at Mendoza in the portal and passed, and Indiana's best OL is only there because he wasn't good enough to start for us. As for Miami? They beat us by a field goal at home in our QB's first-ever game. If the ACC hadn't been so thirsty for an opening-weekend blockbuster and we'd played them in November like we were supposed to, we would have stomped them. See you next season." - MFMF.
