Dunham, Keon, Young and Traore in obvious passing downs has potential.
Yeah that was one of the reasons they really prioritized him. He can play end on standard down and distance and be a starter quality guy. On passing downs, he can easily slide inside if you have other edge rushers you like more.

It was more on his uncle than on him anyway. Seems like a good kid--glad to have him where he belongs.
Yeah, I remember it was all said and done. He was ready, then out of nowhere his uncle interjects himself into the mix and he was gone.

Thinking about obvious opponent’s obvious passing downs with our secondary and a 4 man front of Traore, Young, Keeley, and Sneed 😮‍💨
Can a team have negative passing yards for a game?

Hope Keeley continues to push and balls out for the Irish. He’s shown he has the ability, just needs some consistency.
He came on strong at the end of the year, our schedule is soft enough that he should get reps all year against guys he can beat. Should build confidence and his skill set to head into the playoffs!!

Good stuff. I said some nasty things while he was at Bama which I take back.
2 years of eligibility and maybe another for a red shirt?

Not to single you out but it would probably be good for a lot of people to use this occasion to reflect on what they’re said about 17 and 18 year olds getting recruited and to maybe extend some more grace to those who are led astray in the future.

I think the irony of the situation imo, is if Keon had signed with us originally...due to him needing development, he probably would have experienced a similar career. He probably sits behind guys like Burnham, Traore, JJB, Botelho and JR. He might have transferred. Instead, we get him with the chance to contribute right away with one of the best developers at his position. Most times in life, things don't work out...but sometimes, just sometimes...they do! Welcome Home Keon!
Highly unlikely, difference between sitting behind 1st/2nd Rounders and other 5⭐ players as opposed to 3rd and 7th Rounders and guys in the 250+ range.

He would have been 19 when I laid the boot in - I consider that to be fair game.

I assure you, he wouldn't have played as a freshman...maybe a la Traore. Last year after Traore and Botelho got injured he would have gotten tick. Obviously, no one knows for sure...but my point is now he is at worst a part of a 3 man rotation with a chance to move inside on passing downs as oppose to having to wait his turn if he came straight from high-school.

He wouldn't have started as a FR but he would've certainly played whether it be every game or just the 4 games to preserve his RS but as a Soph it would be no doubt.

As a sophomore, it would have been Botelho and Burnham as starters imo. Maybe they don’t go get Oben but if they did...hypothetically of course, it would be Oben, Botelho, Burnham, Traore and JR. I think you'd be looking at him as the 5th end at best at that time until the injuries. We just lost Burnham because he wanted more snaps then he was getting, and he was in the two deep for two years. Now don't get me wrong Rocket, experience be damned I (I'm guessing like you) would have Keeley playing over most of those guys...I'm just not sure ND would have.

No it means you signed a contract to play just like HS kids do now... payers are being paid now have agents and contracts.. so I believe it is fairly air tight for at least 1 year

There will certainly be a good bit of intrigue as to what he can achieve over the next year.
