Feels like the Gug is really clamping down on anything coming out today. There is always something to report.
Yup ISD staff basically silent today. And I don't really get it. Trying to negotiate contracts without other teams applying pressure? Not like the agents aren't going to tell the other schools. Trying to limit bad press? I don't think the staff honestly cares what the boards have to say lmao

Is there proverb potential here? "Tis better to piss your pants and be proven wrong, rather than not pissing them at all."

Certainly feels like MF told the entire beat to shut the fuck up or lose access. We are in the middle of the portal cycle and no one reported literally anything today. Our sole pieces of new information was a crystal ball by Chris Hummer and a note about Mylan from OSU’s board.

The crazy part is the II staff has just disappeared today. Not a single post about the portal or visits or acknowledging anything. They need to fan the flames!

ISD hasn’t been much better. They post the new transfers and that’s about it.

Q while we wait for some good news: if we could land Brewu plus a competent K, M Graham, Keeley, and a few project DTs would that be a more or less positive portal?
At this stage??? Yes

It's more than likely that a huge part of the "quiet" from the media is the product of ND not releasing information because they're back channeling with agents to see who has yet jump in the portal. They'll wait to see if there is anybody that they can negotiate quietly with to lock them up or guarantee the first visit when they jump in. Essentially the game that was played for the first wave of portal entrants.

Any of that back channeling will be kept absolutely silent in order to limit the number of teams in on those players.

Don't be surprised if a couple new names emerge between now and the weekend that are intriguing, but not yet in the portal.

Daley vs Keeley would be a tough choice tbh considering Daley’s injury

Hard to believe he went from South Bend to Baton Rouge to Ann Arbor in 24~ hours. I’m doubting the LSU visit happened.
I always felt like that one would be a longshot if Michigan got him on campus due to his perceived relationship with Whittingham and Michigan's immediate needs.

I have to think ND has the better shot at Keeley considering his relationship with the school vs Daley's relationship with Michigan. ND also needs a depth end that can play right away. I'm not sure the staff would want to gamble on Daley being ready and back near 100% in 2026. They can probably only afford to pay one quality end. I think, ultimately, they gamble on the healthier one.

If it were me I'd also lean Keon because he's really good against the run and I've enjoyed saying for 2 weeks that ND has two excellent pass rushers, and more guys that project to be in Thomas, Dunham and Ewetade. None of those guys are run down defenders in 2026 though, where as Keeley is a grown as man now and can do some of that dirty work on run downs that Burnham and Tuihalamaka gave you. I also think that the addition of Keeley would allow ND to bump one of he or Bryce down into the interior as a pass rusher in 3rd and long situations. The idea of that sub package intrigues me.

Daley is excellent, but ND projects to have a lot of what he brings. Keeley helps you replace what you lost to graduation / transfer.
