I followed Atkinson extensively this year as I'm a long-time friend of Beau Brungard's family. The only two FCS QB's I would even look at are Cole Payton and Beau. Beau is Riley Leonard with accuracy, but not the biggest NFL arm. Atkinson played a powder puff schedule at Mercer. His last two games against Auburn and South Dakota tell the real story (1td, 6 int).

Our HS team knocked Beau and Springfield out of the playoffs his senior year. Beau was a complete stud even in the snow.

The snow surprised Springfield. They game-planned to throw the ball against Carey. I'm not sure it would have mattered, though That running back was a monster and your line punished Springfield all game.

Keeley came in to Bama at 245. He played as an OLB as a true freshman, then moved to their Bandit position as he put on weight.

Keeley never dropped 40 pounds, he gained it.

He did both. He had the weight, lost it early at Alabama when they moved him to OLB, then gained it back when they moved him around the line.

The nickel spot is, in my opinion, underrated for need. Golden can be solid but having an experienced guy there like they’ve taken in the past has been pretty crucial in the defense being as good as it has been (minus the first 2.5 games to start this year)
