I don't see a single other source saying that he committed. Only that he'll be visiting Kentucky.

Is Leavitt even that good? I mean he seems fine but he’s really the best available?

Are Cristobal and Lanning ever going to develop a QB that signed with them?
I heard crap about ND doing the portal for 2 years. Someone in my family asked me “why would any QB want to go to ND? They’ll just go into the portal and get someone every year.”

Miami fans get very sensitive about this. What's funny is some of them even get upset when reporters mention them as a potential landing spot for the top QB's. And when you tell them that reporters wouldn't be doing that if Cristobal could actually develop a QB he recruited, they flip out.

I mean, both teams in the NCG last year had transfer QBs. This year, 3/4 (or I guess 4/4) teams in the semifinals do. If a team wins with a portal QB, what's the issue with not being able to recruit a QB out of HS, who may or may not reflect their ranking? Miami having a seasoned QB and us having a brand new QB in the first game certainly benefitted Miami.

On this topic, and regarding over paying at premium positions...You look at Miami and Oregon getting Gabriel, Moore, Ward, and Beck and you get potentially 2 number one overall picks in the NFL draft. Then you look at teams like Michigan and Tennessee paying Nico and Underwood from the high school ranks to be underwelming at best...and maybe they feel like going after a proven player in the portal is a better investment than throwing money at a heralded recruit who might not pan out.

Yep, all four teams have transfers starting.

Mendoza (transferred from Cal)
Beck (transferred from Georgia)
Chambliss (transferred from Ferris State)
Moore (transferred from UCLA)
