I know we all like Riley. But he STILL cannot throw more than 18 yards. It’s just not good enough to be an NFL qb. The Colts are fucking ridiculous for even having him on the roster.

He can throw at least 45 yards
He's got a sprained knee, but was considered good enough to go. I'm guessing saying he was still in the mix was just a ploy to not tip their hand on the starter.

If rivers can get him a Super Bowl at least he can get that ring. I hope he can improve and have a great career but you’re right 6th round pick not a great passer doesn’t make me feel like he’s going to have a long NFL career.

My understanding is they wanted to give it everything to win and get to playoffs. Rivers have them that chance vs a rookie who is still dealing with learning a system. Rivers already knows the system.
It's not an indictment on Riley.
Rivers is honestly the only FA this logic works for.
If things were clinched or they were eliminated, I believe Riley would've been in and we're not see the rivers experiment.
