Me too. I think this is actually going to be a galvanizing moment for ND that is going to cause a massive investment in the program.

Then the dream scenario:

1. Pillage the ACC and SEC rosters however Martin and Freeman want,
2. Move olympic sports to the B10. Hockey is already there. Leave the baby back bitch ACC. But do not cancel that Miami game. They need their comeuppance.
3. Tell Gameday and every other shiteating ESPN show/reporter to GTFO of South Bend and don't come back.
4. Beat the everloving shit out of Miami and everyone else next year. Sure put in the backups so the starters don't get hurt. But keep throwing, keep blitzing, keep faking punts, keep calling timeouts. The victory formation has been torn out of the playbook.
5. Bonus dream scenario - give away the 300-500 tickets behind the Miami bench to South Bend locals. For charity.

The might all be in holding cells by halftime but it would be worth it.

Visiting teams only get endzone seats under the scoreboard directly infront of those loud ass speakers. No more lower bowl for visiting teams.

Rename this the Soft Peter thread. Grow a pair Pete. We need a warrior not a soft pushover.
I for one want a level headed leader who can think strategically and move effectively where it counts. Pete said enough in the interview for me to believe they're not just going to roll over and take this. Him sitting on Barstool or the DP Show and talking shit and burning bridges would feel good in the moment, but for as big as we are, we are going up against a behemoth and have to have long term planning and tactically sound movements.

This is fair. Cooler heads will prevail and ND has a lot smarter and even keeled folks leading the way than my compulsive and short fused ass.

It's the one and only reason I'd support a jump to the B1G and a renegotiated deal with FOX...just to push back against ESPN and the SEC. Join forces w/ rivals to conquer the true enemy.
All of this might be moot depending on what the final bill that passes in Congress looks like. The one proposed by the Republicans doesn't really have much in it (right now) to reign in ESPN. The other one supported by the Democrats literally has an entire section devoted to pooling media rights and ensuring that revenue goes up for the "have nots" at the expense of the current "Big Two." If something like the SAFE Act passes and is held up in court you will see massive realignment in the next few years likely including the restoration of the smaller, regional conferences under the bundled media rights. If there is no media rights regulation, then the current power imbalance will get even worse.

If the final bipartisan bill makes the current media rights landscape illegal then it's anyone's guess what the future will look like. They're also trying to do crazy shit like cap coaching salaries, make booster collectives illegal (which will just bring back SEC bag men), etc. No one knows what the next few years are going to look like.

IMO he’s absolutely killing this. Very reasonable and level-headed in his appearances. Going on with a known ND hater (portnoy) and airing out their concerns I thought did a great job.
Yep. Need to be level headed and leave the emotion to us fans. Pete will say what needs to be said. He'll just do it privately over the phone instead of in the media.

They should of absolutely nominated a member of Irish Envy to be the mouthpiece to the world.
The IE advocate would have been on every network like this

I get the talk soft and carry a big stick but our AD was not out there the last three weeks promoting ND the way other ADs were promoting their teams aggressively. Equivocating is terrible persuasion, make points quickly and directly. Quick Ricky Bobby "with all due respect" at the end, not the beginning if you need to be a sissy about it. This is not afternoon tea with your in-laws. Laugh at minus three rushing yards in Bama's final spotlight relative our rookie QB making wrong RPO decisions against one of the best DLs in the country for his first start.

Politics is a contact sport.
