If we're all paying attention, he has said the following on his appearances:
1. Fluffed up Miami and BYU
2. Made it abundantly clear that their problem is with the process and ESPN
3. Made it abundantly clear that they are done with their ACC "partnership" just a question of when.
No more 5th grade party games. The gloves are off

The ACC dug their own grave. I will be happy to watch ND bury them in it.

With that said though, I don’t get why no one will acknowledge the conflict of interest between SEC, ESPN, and the committee. That is the bigger deal here and ADs across the country should be screaming about it.

idk if you have to go scorched but he better mention the conflict with sec, cfp and espn, and id love for SOMEONE to mention if the sec wants half the field their teams need to play each other BEFORE the playoff and not often times during it for the first time

There was a movie like 20 years ago called “The Village” that had “those we don’t speak of”. It seems kinda like that. If you want to play ball you can’t acknowledge ESPN’s bias

The ACC May have won the battle but it’s going to lose the war when the largest brand bounces. Clemson and Miami can at least run to the SEC maybe FSU as well
FSU and Clemson already tried and the SEC said no thanks and there is no way they are taking Miami who can’t even sell out their own stadium.

I'm pretty sure it's because they're the only ones in the room with a bigger dick than Notre Dame. The ACC is nothing, the conference has only been been saved by lawsuits and Notre Dame. ESPN *literally* controls the entire sport and until that changes through federal legislation or something else you can't fight them "gloves off."

It really feels like even the most cursory peek behind the curtain will reveal some next level collusion between ESPN and the SEC (and to a lesser extent the useful idiots in the ACC). And god I hope someone starts poking around there and burns this whole thing to the ground, because what a fucking sham this has all become.

Pete at least made it clear that the ACC is treading in dangerous waters here and we aren't going to just sit down and take their bullshit anymore.

Edit - but dear god someone please bring up why a sitting AD of a university that stands to profit from a fellow conference member making the field doesn't have to recuse themselves from the process of picking the teams in the playoff. It doesn't make any sense, and someone needs to start banging that fucking drum.

Also -- and this is the real kicker -- the 12 seed automatic bid MOU was a negotiated caveat for the SEC/ESPN playoff television rights. Sounds like that's going to be the nexus for action.

You fight them with Fox and B1G

This is fair. Cooler heads will prevail and ND has a lot smarter and even keeled folks leading the way than my compulsive and short fused ass.

It's the one and only reason I'd support a jump to the B1G and a renegotiated deal with FOX...just to push back against ESPN and the SEC. Join forces w/ rivals to conquer the true enemy.

Adding to this, the SEC already has a Florida team and a team in South Carolina. Clemson, FSU, and Miami can't even compete at the top of that dogshit conference they are in now, what value do they add to the SEC?

This might make some mad because of the Manti Teo stuff but that would have been right up the Deadspin of old’s alley.

Honestly wish there was more sports media that was directly antagonistic towards the major players/stakeholders in CFB at this point.

Sounds like he hit at least a triple. My only quibble, without having watched it yet, is the statement about being upset with the conference but not the member schools. The conference is the member schools!

The ACC office would not have done it, and certainly not continued to do it, without at least the tacit approval of the majority of the membership.

Agreed but you gotta pick your battles. Taking on 15 or how many ever schools are in the ACC now is a tall task. The ACC is ultimately the villain.

Pretty much this. His “we are not happy” comment carried a lot of weight, in my opinion and is exactly what I wanted to hear. I expect more to come from this.

Agreed, the only path here is basically "enemy-of-my-enemy" style thing which can work if you got NBC + Fox to team up. Big Ten already has agreement with both networks, so it could work. And CBS is also reportedly unhappy with how their long deal with the SEC went away.
