I’m sure that’s why every talking head at ESPN started reading from the same “Miami > ND” script in unison two weeks ago.
I think you might be overestimating the Acc's pull. Nobody cares what the Acc wants.Because they OPENLY and AGGRESIVELY lobbied against ND
Correct, and that was made clear to the public on Tuesday. Bama moves up despite needing Auburn to gift them that game, and saying that idle teams can move up. They basically told us that Bama was in no matter what and that they'd move Miami over ND because of the H2H.Based on what these ass holes are saying we never had a chance to be in since last Saturday night.
I love this. Great take. Now extend this attitude until the title is in our hands when we are STILL pissing them off for not being in some suck-off cult conference. I'm serious. What they need to do is go to the Pop Tarts bowl but not partake in any of the side show stuff.
Show up, win, go home.
Just be a humorless terminating machine going forward.![]()
Sure, but you are talking about improved ratings in 2-4 playoff games with ND in versus damaging your relationship with your conference partners. They chose their conference partners because they can, this system is an abomination.Their rights with the Playoff itself are WAY more valuable than either conference deal.
It's not close.
It's like 4x.
I’m not watching any of that shit. See everyone next season.Am I the only one that thinks these playoff games are dog shit? Tulane and ole Miss already played. Same for bama/oklahoma. Oregon and jmu? Have fun with that crap pile
I would agree with you if they weren't actively campaigning against ND for the past 5 weeks all the way up until the very last possible second. Every single broadcast included the announcers pontificating about "head to head." I didn't watch it, but I can GODDAMN guarantee that the MAC championship had the announcers going on and on about how Miami should be in.You guys are retarded. ESPN DESPERATELY wanted Notre Dame in the field for the ratings.
I agree, but two 10-2 teams and a 10-3 team got in. We're the best of the group if anyone watches the games. The writing was on the wall when Bama jumped us. The whole system sucks. All of us knew we had to win one of the first two. Feel bad for the team, they gave us a heck of a season and deserved another shot.
Yeah, but ESPN wanted us badlyWe should not take the high road, but we will. It should be full scorched earth on the ESPN/ACC industrial complex.
This has less to do with Bama, imo. This is all about ACC not losing the $ if they don't get a team.
The narrative was so blatantly obvious. Every game for 2 weeks we got a 10 minute monologue about Miami getting in.
Yep, game control has been ruled irrelevant. Back to the days of running up scores for the eye test.I would like to see ND bury every ACC team on their schedule next year. Every one.
Starters must not be pulled at any time in ACC games going forward.
Call TO and throw while up 50 with 5 seconds left in the game.
There are guys like this on the committee:Virginia dropped 2 spots for an OT loss. Alabama doesn’t drop at all for a blow out.
I just want consistency, or at least have the question asked why Alabama didn’t drop. Couldn’t even get that.
Miami is one of the 12 best teams. I have no problem with them being in. It’s the way this all occurred that’s the problem. Burn it all to the ground

I can’t describe to you how pissed I’m going to be if Marcus and next year’s team gives even a shred of respect to anyone on the schedule or the national media and ND beat.
And this is why we need 16 teams. Some years there could be a theoretical team ranked 17 that could have put a run together, but this year there was a team with the 3rd highest betting odds who got left out. This is beyond dumb because this was a year ND could (and likely would have) won a natty. It also highlights how stupid the ND admin was to front load the schedule like that. Marcus has to figure out how to have the team ready to win in September just like November. This sucks donkey balls but a lot of the blame falls squarely at ND’s own feet. Also fuck Miami, the ACC the SEC and ESPN.
And to add to this:Alabama 100% doesn’t deserve to be in.
But the whole thing is politics. I’ve never liked the playoffs going back to the 4 team one. This isn’t sour grapes, but truth.
If Virginia wins last night, ND is in and Miami left out. But because Duke won, the committee puts Miami is so an ACC team is represented.
You guys are vastly overestimating the degree of coordination between the business people and the on-air talent, and between ESPN and the Committee.Sure, but you are talking about improved ratings in 2-4 playoff games with ND in versus damaging your relationship with your conference partners. They chose their conference partners because they can, this system is an abomination.
Nobody's celebrating anything. It was a statement to enlighten some that none of us knew how this was gonna turn out and factually being worried was justified. I won't apologize that your feelings are hurt or recognize your opinion has any more value than any other member of this board. So no, I think I will stay!Stfu losers… who takes time. For a victory lap on something like this . Take a hike
