I honestly can't recall such a stark turnaround from a confused, misaligned unit in regular disarray to one that is among the best in the country while literally outscoring opposing offenses.

I'm not convinced Ash was entirely the problem or solution, but I'm thankful he & they kept at it and figured their shit out. My Saturdays are tons more enjoyable as a result.

I’m still not convinced Coach Freeman hasnt taken a partial role at least in the play calling since the Purdue game but either way it’s great to see how things have changed since the Purdue game considering how the season started. In Ass I mean Ash we trust?

And even in your case
Though it's the toughest case we've yet to face
Don't worry, we're determined to succeed
Follow Free's lead
And yes, indeed
You will be

Popular
You're gonna be popular
You'll call all the proper decoys when you coach up the boys
Little ways to tackle and blitz, oh
Free'll show you what shoes to wear, hats to dry your hair
Everything that really counts to be

Popular
He'll help you be popular

They just keep getting better each week. Ash now has a solid idea on every players strength's and weaknesses and is planning accordingly. I think this has allowed him to disguise his coverages and calls. As much as I loved Al, I think Ash is doing a better job of disguising his coverages and calls.

Fortunately the fanbase and IE members were patient in giving the time to adapt to his players and new situation…….

Anyone actually have any inside info about what the hell really went on?

Freeman more involved?

The players finally bought in?

Everyone needed time to adjust to each other and finally started to click?

The turn around has miraculous

That simulated pressure for the first INT was a thing of beauty.

Showed a 6 man pressure vs Empty pre-snap, ball has to come out hot, QB (especially a young one) anticipating Cover 0.

Turned into a 4 man rush with 3 Buzz coverage. Dropped the Mike and End to the boundary, and rolled Stroman from the MOF to the strong hook (replacing the blitzer) to steal quick game to #3.

Said it last week after watching the Pitt film - I love the games he's running up front and how he's combining Man/Zone.

Wasn't it the same on the Ethan Long pick 6 that wasn't...that time Hinish just got in fast.

I think about this at least twice daily
I have even gone into a rabbit hole of substance abuse with coaches and getting clean. This defense is now elite and the first 2 weeks was an absolute joke.

To be fair, absolutely no one on this board could have predicted the defense turning it around after the first two weeks.
Go back into the thread. Receipts everywhere.

The turn came at halftime of Purdue. It took 2 and a half games for them to get this figured out.
