That KKK article was interesting to me since it appears to be constricting history in maybe even a lazy way. I have no doubts about all the detail about the 1924 Notre Dame confrontation, but that didn't end KKK attempts at confrontation like the article implies. I know this because my Father, while at Notre Dame in the early 1930s, took part in a beat-down of Klan members who were marching to the university in a sizable confrontation. (This was about 1931-32, but I don't have an exact date.) Dad was a junior or senior, I think. They heard about the Klan demonstrating in South Bend and then planning on going on to Notre Dame. Dad was a stud. He and several of his friends (and probably lots more) went into town and came out of alleys picking off Klan members in their robes and pulling them back into the alleys for "unfriendly purposes." He said that the March got quite "diminished" and less enthusiastic over time. ... it took many years to beat the crap out of Indiana KKK. (Also Bob Knight was no friend of KKK as the cheap shot title of the Isiah clip teases inappropriately. He was a hard-ass drill sergeant type person, yes, and with an exceedingly dry sense of humor. High standard guy. Tough to work for. etc. Think USArmy ... he coached there.)
