That motherfucker needs to worry about his unemployment benefits running out instead of ND's CFP ranking.
I used to hate Pete for no real reason other than his voice pissed me off. Still hate his voice but I dont mind him. He throws out these random thoughts that aren’t brilliant, but they’re at least his.

Fortuna's commentary is always idiotic and lazy. I have no idea why Sampson co-hosts a show with him. My only working theory is they’re both bald.

Why does Fortuna cover ND? Who wants someone who clearly dislikes ND covering there team?? He was like ND should be 20 basically…

I actually like Pete, but he can be pointedly wrong about things. Never had a use at all for Fortuna, and haven't listened to that pod or read anything he's written in a long time.

This bald fuck just doesn’t want to see us at 10. I could help him rationalize this if he would just try. First game given our IC and baby QB on the road to the best version of Miami and Beck is a quality loss (hate to say that) but Miami has regressed considerably since then. That turned out to be Miami’s Super Bowl for the season. How many teams in the top 20 are in a six game winning streak and held all but one of their opponents to under 14 points a game? USC the #1 offense to a penalty aided 24 points and their QBs worst game of the season? We didn’t cover for the BC game but it was a few ill timed errors and bogus penalties to keep it that close. Statistically other than the final score it was a 25 point victory. We don’t have any lucky last drive wins on our resume but we do have a loss aided by an egregious no holding call and a bobbled snap against the #3 team. We need to shut him up with a dominant win this weekend and of course next weekend will be the put up or shut up for all of us.

So assuming we have a decent win so we jump to #9 after the BYU game? If GA or Bama lose do we jump one of them? Both have had several unconvincing wins and ND will have won 7 in a row by double digits.

You can marry rich. You should see a couple of my buddies - don't know shit and they're doing great.
That sounds like a living nightmare to me. I take it they have big Johnson’s?

Ari is just being performative for clicks. Him and Staples have to be the most boring combination to host a podcast ever created. Nothing they say is particularly insightful, premium insider information or exciting
It’s two 6-2 teams. One has beaten the other by 1 point but has lost its last 2 games and would likely get beaten by the other. It’s an interesting debate but I give it to ND for having won 6 in a row mostly handily.

Committee is definitely using FPI (at the very least among other advanced metrics) more so than they used to. Good for us now when it used to not be lol.

FPI if nothing else is a good indicator of which teams are likely to be competitive against one another, moreso than win-loss record as unfair as it seems. TV execs don’t want blowouts.
It's not just TV execs who don't want blowouts. The CFP committee doesn't want them either. Their lives are a lot easier if they pick teams that play competitive games. How much did they have to listen to Bama fans and Pawl bitch and moan because SMU and Tennessee blew goats in the first round (IU and Clemson lost bad, too, but at least the scores look respectable comparatively speaking)? Have to imagine they want a better first round slate this year.

I wouldn't know about D's latest rants, but out of the countless CFB fans I've seen complaining about ND, zero have been OU fans. Not saying they don't exist, but Driskell may be largely attacking a phantom population here, strawmanning those pointing to overall quality wins, and using a questionable claim to do it. Sagarin, for example, has Tennessee (who OU beat on the road) at #18 and Michigan (who was trotting out a true freshman QB in Week 2 when OU beat them at home) at #24.

Broken clocks and all that. I do give him credit when he makes good points lol.
He's not wrong on the lack of awareness with some fanbases. There's a lot of delusion with BYU right now, Pittsburgh, Indiana, and even USC still. Those are just a few.
